Bree Morrison sat in the hospital wing of her school full of fear. She wasn't scared of the tests they were running on her. She wasn't scared that they thought she had a concussion. Bree was scared because her possible boyfriends grandmother who had been hunting her friend since birth had changed her mind and gone after Bree. Catherine had the opportunity. Catherine could have had Anna. Yet, she wanted Bree more. That was the thought that terrified Bree.
Bree liked to know things. She was just a teenage girl. The unknown was killing her that day. She didn't know why Anna's grandmother was after her. She didn't know why Chase had never told her.
She had gone into the school year thinking that she had a stalker. Now Bree's fears were confirmed. Catherine was the one who was responsible for Bree being watched. Now, with the semester ending Bree was completely sure of 3 things.
1. Chase had lied to her, but she still couldn't get him out of her head.
2. She was no longer going to be normal (or as normal as a spy in training can be).
3. She hated her sister.

"Hey," Kira said as she entered Bree's room. Bree ignored her sister. It was a miracle that Kira hadn't been kicked off of the campus. "I know you're mad, but you need to understand that I will do whatever it takes to keep us safe. So what if I had shot Chase? He would have been a casualty. It's not like he's innocent." Bree turned her head and glared at her sister.
"What about Anna? An innocent girl? Does it bother you that she's my friend?" Bree snapped.
"Oh, but this would have been over. You would have stayed safe," Kira replied.
"No, Kira," Bree said with a sad shake of her head. "This isn't about Anna anymore. Catherine wants me. This ends with me."
"I won't let it," Kira said. She took her sisters hands and stared into her eyes. "No one is going to hurt my little sister."
"Why don't you do what you do best? Just take off and care only for yourself. You've seemed to have no problem with it in the past. Just go, Kira," Bree said. She refused to look at her sister. Kira turned to leave. Bree felt something course through her. She turned to Kira and said one final statement. "Oh, and if you ever hurt Chase I will personally hunt you down and ruin you."
Once Bree was sure that Kira was gone she fell to her knees and cried. Part of her always thought that she and her sister would be best friends forever. She now knew how wrong she was. Kira had tried to kill one of Bree's best friends and the boy that she loved. Bree couldn't forgive that.
Bree carried her bags down into the grand hall as she heard voices. She watched as Cammie walked down the stairs with the most beautiful woman Bree had ever seen. The woman that she looked like. Cammie and Bree's mother were acting like old friends and for the first time Bree wondered if they were. Cassie Morrison made eye contact with Bree.
"Bree?" She cried softly.
"Mom," Bree breathed. She hadn't seen her mother in the longest time. Her mom smiled her gorgeous smile and opened her arms. Cassie started running down the staircase as Bree ran up it. Bree ran into her mothers arms. Cassie ran her hands through Bree's hair.
"Oh, hello angel! You've gotten so beautiful! I've missed you, my darling!" Cassie cried in her light British accent. Bree didn't realize that she was crying until Cassie wiped her tears.
"I'm sorry," Bree said. Cassie pushed back and smiled at her daughter.
"Oh darling, you don't have to apologize for your feelings! Cammie has caught me up on how you've been lately. Did you know that Cammie and I used to work together all the time? She told me that there's a boy in your life! Oh sweety you have to tell me all about it!" Cassie exclaimed. Bree looked to Cammie. Cammie was grinning at her. Bree didn't know what to say. She hadn't seen her mother in years. She wasn't ready to open up and tell her everything.
"Where's grandpa?" She asked. She hadn't even realized that her grandfather wasn't there to pick her up. She scanned the room and turned back to her mother. Cassie was frowning.
"Oh honey, I'm sorry. We've all agreed that with what happened it isn't safe for you to go to Kansas over break. I've already spoken to your grandfather. He thinks that you have an internship in Maryland. I know that this is hard for you, but you need to think of his safety," Cassie consoled. Bree's face fell. She always stayed with her grandfather. He was her best friend. She knew that if she talked about it she would cry, so she changed the subject.
"Did you hear what Kira did?" She asked. Cassie nodded.
"I am very disappointed in her. Do me a favor and go easy on her. You know that everything going on with her father has been getting to her. She's struggling with identity issues. Be kind," Cassie said with a smile. She heard a boy clear his throat. She turned to see Chase standing by his mother. Cassie's face went wide. "And this is the boy!"
"Hello, Mrs. Morrison. I'm Chase," Chase said. He sounded like a regular boy as he stretched out his hand. Cassie shook it. Cassie smiled at Bree.
"A gentlemen and he's cute. Keep him around for a while," she said. Bree was embarassed. Chase winked at her while her mother spoke.
"I wanted to apologize to you for not telling you about my grandmother. I didn't want you to fear her or me. I hoped that you would never have to meet her. I also wanted to tell you that I'm here for you. If you ever need me just reach out and I promise I'll find you as fast as I can," Chase said to Bree. Cassie awed and gave Bree the thumbs up.
"Excuse me, Ms. Morrison," a British voice said. Bree turned and looked at agent Edward Townsend. Chase's grandfather. She expected him to be glaring at her like he usually did, but his face was soft. "Due to the trustees picking a failure for Anna's bodyguard they left it in my hands to pick one for you." Bree's mouth dropped open.
"So what you're saying is that I'm going to die!" Bree whined. "You hate me! You'll probably pick someone that will kill me!" Townsend chuckled.
"I don't hate you. I hate your sister. Besides, I think you'll like this bodyguard. I even got his approval," he said as he gestured to Chase. Bree cocked an eyebrow at Chase. He grinned.
"Of course she'll like me! Everybody likes me!" A woman said. She was tall and had an athletic looking body. She had blue eyes and long, curly brown hair. She wore a grin similar to Chase's. Bree could have sworn that she had seen her before. She looked like she belonged in the Goode family. The woman cocked a hip and winked at Bree.
"You'll come to find that there are not many people that I trust," Townsend said.
"And you trust her?" Bree said skeptically. The woman laughed.
"I would hope so, he raised me!" The woman said. Bree's mouth dropped open. It all made sense. This was Chase's aunt. "I'm agent Morgan Townsend."
"She's your aunt?" Bree gasped. Chase nodded. "Your Zach's sister?" She turned to Townsend. "She's your daughter? But she seems so... nice." Cammie snorted.
"Just you wait," Morgan said with a playful shove. "Pack your bags, sister. You're coming with me for winter break." Bree turned to her mother.
"I'm not coming with you?" She asked.
"Sorry, angel. I have to work," Cassie said apologetically. Bree nodded. Go figure.
"Don't worry, my safe house is pretty cool. I'm pretty cool too," Morgan said. Chase smiled at his aunt. Morgan eyed Chase and then looked back to Bree. She raised her eyebrows. "Oh, this is going to be fun."

(AUTHOR'S NOTE: that would be the end to the next book in the series. I know how I want the next book to end, but I have no idea how I want to fill in the gaps. Please help! And thank you for reading!)
