The soldier held you against the wall, hand against your neck. "My, my," he mocked. "you're awfully pretty. And you're wearing such nice clothes. It would be a shame if you got pregnant again, wouldn't it?" he ran his hand across your stomach.

"If you were smart, you would know that these clothes signify my mastery in firebending." your response caught him off guard, and you saw a figure approaching in the distance. "Go on. Continue to taunt me. You see that man approaching us?" you pointed to the figure who was steadily reaching you.

"I bet he knows what I'm talking about. Hey, you!" you waved him over, not noticing who he was until he reached the two of you. Oh. Zuko, is that you? "Explain to your soldier that these clothes signal my mastery in firebending. He's a dumbass, and I'm sure he'll listen to his superior." Zuko gave you a once over, scowling at your appearance.

"Those are clothes of the royal family," he murmured. "Who did you steal these from?" he demanded, and you glared. "Nobody, asshole. I'm from the Fire Nation."

"Prove it. Release her." the soldier dropped his hand. "You really wanna fight me?" he nodded, and you started to stretch. "Your loss." you sent a blast of fire his away, already imagining the ocean so you could waterbend. The soldier yelled, scurrying away as you and Zuko began to fight.

Not yet, not yet. You moved your hand, trying to coax the water to aid you. "Now!" you yelled, and with a sweep of your arm, a wave of water crashed over Zuko. "Restrain her!" he commanded, and two pairs of arms locked you in place.

He stalked over to you, seeing how your hair was still black and your eyes had traces of yellow in them. "You might be a firebender, but I know you're not from the royal family. Unless," he smiled wickedly at you. "you're Princess Y/N? I heard that you fled the nation, and that you were pregnant." he leaned down to your height, and you took the chance to spit in his eye.

"Fuck you. I am no Y/N." you scowled. "Then you stole those clothes from my sister. Admit it, you're either Y/N or a thief." he ignored the spit, and the soldiers tightened their hold on you. You fiddled with the ring on your left hand, and Zuko took notice.

"Where's your husband?" he asked, seeming confident that he was winning the argument. "My husband is out at sea. I wanted fish, and he was kind enough to go catch some. My husband and I are from the Fire Nation, we just wanted to live over here." something in Zuko's brain switched, and his glare became deadly.

"Is that so?" you nodded, struggling against the soldiers. "You can still bend water and fire. You're coming with us." you laughed, summoning fire and burning the soldiers' hands. "Listen up, you selfish asshole." you declared, glaring up at him.

"I'm not doing shit for you. I might be pregnant, but I can still kick your ass." you heard a loud voice call your name, and you broke free long enough to run. "I'm here! I'm here!" you shouted, seeing Sokka, Aang, Katara, and a big ass monster.

"We wanted to say goodbye." Katara smiled, panicking underneath. "You've been so kind to-" you cut her off, looking back to see the soldiers and Zuko heading towards you. "Take me with you."

"Wha- no!" Sokka protested. "Take me with you. As long as my brother knows where I am, my children are in danger. I won't be a burden, I swear." Aang grinned from atop the monster. "Hop on!" you smiled, and Katara helped you onto the monster, balancing you.

"Yip yip!" Aang cried, and the monster started to- fly? "Woah. What the hell?" you were in awe. "This is Appa, my flying bison! Appa, this is Y/N, princess of the Fire Nation." Aang introduced.

"Hello, Appa. It's very nice to meet you. Oh, you're beautiful." you stroked his side, admiring his fur. "Y/N! Y/N!" Aang grabbed your attention, waving his hand in your face. "Yeah, Aang? What's up?" he pointed to your stomach.

"What are you gonna name them? Your babies, I mean!" he seemed so fascinated with the concept of children, and you realized with a sad jolt that he probably didn't have any family. "I hope to have a boy and a girl. If my wish is granted, Zuko and Azula. If not, I might name a second boy Zhao, like his-"

"Like his father?" Katara asked, and you nodded sadly. "Yes. If I have two girls, though, I'll name the second Suki. I do dearly wish for a boy and a girl, though. I want nothing more than to honor the memory of my brother and sister, although Zuko did just attack the island." you sighed sadly. "He's changed. He might despise me, but I love him. I-"

"He's your brother?!?" Sokka was outraged. "He could've killed us all! And-" you held a hand up, signalling for him to stop. "He wouldn't've. I would've stopped him. And yes, he's my brother."

"Why do you think that your brother hates you?"

"Because it's true. I was adopted into the royal family, and he felt that I was replacing him. Not to mention, I was stronger than him. The problem is, all of that came with a price." Katara placed a kind hand on your shoulder. "I had to rid myself of, well, myself. I shed my personality, opting to just become an emotionless doll. He hated that of me, and so did Azula. It was the reason I was married off, anyway."

"Don't say that, Y/N."

"It's true, though. I got attached, but my siblings didn't feel the same. I'm fine. Don't worry." you wiped the tears that gathered in your eyes. "I've been meaning to ask,"

"Why do you cry yellow? Is there something wrong with you?" Katara elbowed Sokka, and you grinned. "I dyed my eyes gold. I've been going blind because of it. But now that I'm no longer a part of the royal family, I can let my eyes be their natural color."

"Wait. You're going blind? But you can see us." Aang furrowed his brows. "I'm well aware, Aang. But I've been getting blind flashes. I'm managing them, though."

"Why did we bring you along if you're going to be useless soon enough?" Sokka groaned, and Katara and Aang turned on him, scolding him for his words. "No, no. You have a point. You see, I probably won't go fully blind. I'll just have my flashes. And," your grin turned feral.

"I'm one of the strongest firebenders there is. I can also waterbend. I'm plenty useful, Sokka."

Meanwhile, on Zuko's ship:

"Work on your breathing! Firebending comes from the breath, not the muscles! Do it again." Uncle Iroh commanded, but Zuko wasn't having any of it. "But Uncle! I saw Y/N! She looked different, but I could tell!"

"Do it again, Prince Zuko. Talking about your sister will not help you master firebending. If you'd like, imagine Princess Y/N firebending and use that as inspiration." Zuko started to fight the soldiers again, easily winning. "Good, good. You're learning." Uncle Iroh praised.

"She has kids now, Uncle! She's with the Avatar now, but I'll find her and bring her back!"

"Ah, but I can't imagine her being the same girl you knew. She left the Fire Nation for a reason, Prince Zuko. She's matured. You despised her when you two were children, she must despise you now." Uncle Iroh had a point, and even Zuko could see it.

"But Uncle!"

"No buts. She might be a runaway, but she has her reasons, and you need to accept that. She has children, probably from her marriage with Zhao-"

"She's married to Zhao?!?" Zuko shouted, scaring everyone on the ship. "Yes, yes. According to what I've heard, she left him a letter saying that she didn't want the same life for her child that she had. Or, well, twins. Gossip spreads around, Prince Zuko."

"But-" Uncle Iroh cut him off. "That poor girl. You used to bully her so hard when you were younger. Princess Azula joined in, too. The palace servants and noblemen talked about her, also. She was surrounded by enemies, Prince Zuko. She now has a happy life from what I assume."

"She left with the Avatar. I'll find both her and the Avatar, bring them back, and only then will my honor be restored." Zuko leaned over the side of the ship, his shoulders tense. "No. Prince Zuko, you only need the Avatar. Bringing Princess Y/N back will only cause more misery. She's suffered enough."
