"The Serpent's Pass would be the smartest. Plus, it's the only way." you chimed in. "Greetings, fellow refugees!" you screamed, shooting a blast of fire at the voice. "Who the fuck are you and what the fuck do you want?" they managed to dodge the fire, and you saw that it was just a bunch of Earth Kingdom citizens. "Oh. Sorry about that. Hey, you're pregnant! Come, come. Sit down, I know the pains of being with child."
"The Serpent's Pass? That's the deadliest route, and you only take it if you're desperate!" Ying gasped, horrified. "Okay. So maybe we don't take that one. What do you recommend, guys?" Ying clutched her stomach, telling you of her plans. "Ah. Let's do that."
"Four tickets, please." you requested. "Passports?" you nodded, taking out the passport Toph had given to you. "The name's Toph Beifong. She's blind, and we're her escorts." you leaned over the table, grinning wickedly. "Well, normally-" you cut her off. "No. She is a Beifong, you should be grateful that she even looked your way. You know of the Beifong family, don't you?" she gulped, nodding.
"Then why don't you go on, and give us our tickets? I'm sure if you make it quick I won't bring..." you took a pause, caressing her cheek and booping her nose menacingly. "her family into this. Do we have a deal or not?"
"What about the animal? There are none allowed on the ship."
"Ms. Beifong is blind. She needs as much help, and that's her seeing-lemur. I'm sure you can make an exception, can't you?" you lit the tiniest of flames in your palm, grinning widely at the scared receptionist. "Of- of course I can. Here's five tickets." she stamped them. "Thank you, ma'am!"
"Suki! Suki, hey!" she didn't notice you, running over to Sokka. "Oh. Okay..." you watched as they talked, and Sokka eventually realized who she was."Appa's gone. We're going to Ba Sing Se to find him." you stated. "Oh. I'm so sorry." everyone turned to Aang, waiting for his response. "Why is everyone acting like that?" you sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Honey, it's okay. I can't imagine how you feel right now."
"No." the receptionist started to rant about order, and you lit a large flame in your palm. "Listen here, bitch-" Than and Katara grabbed you, holding you back from attacking the receptionist. "She's pregnant! She's pregnant, you fucking idiot! What if her baby dies? Huh? What then? That's on you! There'll be blood on your hands!"
"Why were you so fired up, Y/N?" you cracked your knuckles, looking at the Serpent's Pass. "I was pregnant once, too. I just didn't get the luxury of having a husband. You should be on that ferry, Ying. And I would've fought for your spot."
Than was about to fall, but Toph saved him with her earthbending. "Be careful. You can- oh shit. Katara, take Zuko and Azula. And run!" you yelled, passing your children over to Katara. You sent streaks of lightning back to the Fire Nation ship. "Fuck off!" you shouted as they finally stopped.
"Suki! You can't sleep there!" Sokka cried. He started to fuss, and it took all of your self control to not slap him. "Sokka, calm down. I can take care of myself." Suki asserted. We need to talk, Suki. God, why is it that everyone ignores me? I know that I'm a shitty person, but jeez. There's no reason for karma to be like this.
You slept with an empty feeling in your chest that night. Sokka has Suki. Sokka has Suki. He doesn't need Zuko and Azula. Sokka has Suki. Sokkahas Suki. He doesn't need Zuko and Azula. You repeated to yourself, rocking back and forth on the hard floor. I'll be okay. You'll be okay, Y/N. Get over yourself, you're so pathetic. Your thoughts jumped from topic to topic as you drifted off into a rocky sleep.
"Oh. Single file, everybody." Katara started to bend the water to create a bubble around the ten of you (Momo included). "It's gorgeous," you murmured in awe, reaching out to touch the fish. There was a large shadow looming over the bubble, but you didn't think too much of it. "Suki, can you hold Zuko and Azula for me?" you wound your scarf around her, giving her your children. You didn't know why you did, you just felt like you had to.
Something grabbed the collar of your clothes, and then you were sucked underwater. You looked back to see a large snake thing holding onto your clothing. You tried to scream, but no sound came out. You closed your eyes, not bothering to fight it as your hair floated all over the place. This is nice. The snake finally let go of you, swimming over to your friends.
I should probably go back in the bubble, I'll die without air. Oh, but it's so nice. And warm, I think I should stay. Your thoughts started to argue with each other. Your friends don't want you dead! Oh, but they haven't even noticed that I'm gone. What will happen to Zuko and Azula? They'll go to Haru. Let's just have a nice death.
Air was rapidly leaving your lungs, and your vision was turning black at the edges. Take me quickly, God. You prayed. A different voice filled your ears. NO! It screamed, and then you were glowing. As if you weren't the one in control of your body, you brought out Kyoshi's fan. A few flaps of the fan, and you were shooting above the water, looking like a goddess.
Your hair had dried in the seconds you had reached above the water, and your eyes were glowing. You did a spin, and suddenly you weren't wearing your clothes anymore. It was a Kyoshi warrior uniform, and you could tell your face was painted, too. You flicked your (Kyoshi's) fan, and a streak of lightning hit the serpent square in its nose.
You opened your mouth, but no sound came out. You were still floating, even with the serpent dead. What the fuck? What's going on? Your arms flung out, and then you were falling. Please, let me drown. You begged. A part of you knew that it wouldn't happen, but you were still disappointed when you floated over to your friends.
"Y/N?!?! What was that?!?" you didn't respond, only taking Zuko and Azula back from Suki. "Hey, my little loves. Did the snake hurt you? No, I thought so. You have the blood of firebenders, you couldn't get hurt even if you tried. Yeah, that's my kids. Yeah, yeah. Are you excited to see Ba Sing Se?" you cooed at your children as you walked.
"Can't you just, hold it in or something?!?" you elbowed Sokka. "Sokka, shut up." you commanded as Katara took the lead. "Y/N, you can do whatever." you scoffed. "I know how to deliver a fucking baby. Might I remind you, I delivered two of them." you went inside the tent, starting to hold Ying's hand.
"I don't think I can do this!" she cried. "No. You can. Listen, this shit is fucking hard, but you have people to help you through it. You have your husband, your sister-in-law, and all of us. So stop being a fucking coward and push." you ordered, and she pushed. God, I wish that was me. Imagine having a husband.
"It's selfish of me to leave, isn't it?" you hugged your knees to your chest, letting out a ragged sigh. "What do you mean?"
"I don't know...I just, I just want to be her."
"You want another kid?" you chuckled. "No. I wanted to be surrounded by people who care for me while I had my own children. It's a shame. I wanted nobody more than my family there when I had Zuko and Azula. I just- I would've stayed with Zhao if It was possible. He didn't love me, but I could maybe learn to love him, you know? I wanted to see my brother. I wanted to see no one more than my brother, but of course, he hates my guts. God, I want to have what Ying has. I want a stable relationship. With someone who loves me. And then, Sokka-" you looked at Toph, but she was nowhere to be found.
"Of course. Toph doesn't deserve me putting all my stress on her. You dumbass. You have kids, get over yourself. Nobody can get everything they want. You just didn't get anything you want. Oh, well. Hi, my little loves. You're going to meet your father soon. His name is Haru, and I think he'll be the best fit for you. He has a stable home, you know? He'll give you happiness, something that I can't do.
"Haru will love you, and here's this. You'll even have your own grandma! I had my own grandfather when I was younger, but my father murdered him. I know it. But Haru. I knew that this day would come, and as soon as we find Appa, you'll be happy. I know it. I can't provide you with things children need, I'm a fugitive. Not to mention, I'm a child myself. Oh, I just know you'll love Haru. You won't call him Haru, though. You'll call him dad." you rocked yourself, talking to your infants.
"I just hope he makes good on his promise."
