"Are you sure?" Katara raised her eyebrow, swishing the melon again. "Of course! The swishing means it's ripe!" the vendor seemed frustrated at her indecisiveness. "It's ripe, Katara." Aang pointed at the melon.

She set down the melon, frowning. "I just remembered that we don't have any money, anyway." the vendor started to yell, taking Sokka's bag and kicking him. You turned your attention to an older couple who was arguing about a storm.

"Uhh, sir? I'm sorry, but your wife is correct. A storm is brewing." you butted in, feeling your stomach start to ache. "See? She agrees with me! Don't go out today!" the woman defended. Sokka volunteered to help go fishing, and you gripped the man's shoulder as you sunk to the ground, overcome with pain.

A weird liquid poured from out of you. "Fuck," you groaned, and everyone turned their attention to you. "Oh no." the lady muttered, helping you up. "What? What's going on? Why does it-" you cut yourself off with a shriek. "I'll take her to the doctor." the woman started to drag you along, and you squirmed as best as you could.

"No! Where am I going? Am I-" it clicked. "Are they coming?" you asked, and the woman grimaced. "You, girl! Come help me take your friend to the doctor! Quickly!" she snapped, and Katara immediately wrapped your arm around her shoulders, helping the old lady carry you.

"Let me go. I'll be fine. I need to take a nap." you protested as they brought you into a house. "She's giving birth!" a girl around your age came out from another room, saw you, and screamed for someone. "Ma! She's giving birth!" another woman came out, taking you from Katara and the old lady's grasp.

"Okay, okay. Shh, I got you." the tears rolled down your cheeks as she laid you down on a bed. "Twins." you ground out. "Oh. Oh no. Fen, hot water and a towel! Now!" she commanded, and the girl your age from earlier brought in a white towel and a bucket of steaming water.

Katara and the old lady walked into the room, and realization finally struck. "Katara...bring Zuko. I want to see my brother. Or even Azula. Or even my father. Please, bring one of them." Katara winced. "Y/N...you know that I can't bring your family."

"Please. Please, I need to see my brother. I need to see him!" you thrashed as another wave of pain hit you. "She's crying yellow. Mom, is that a sign?" the girl, Fen, worried. "No...it's dye. I'm fine. Katara, please bring Zuko. I need to see my brother." you begged as the woman wiped the blood that was gathering in your lower regions.

Katara looked away, shame coating her face. "I...can't. I'm sorry, Y/N. I don't know where your family is." you smiled sadly, the fog in your head clearing for just a moment. "Oh, right. I'm sorry. Please go, Katara. And you, miss. I don't want to take up your time." you cried as Katara didn't even protest, promptly leaving the room with the old lady.

"Where's your husband, darling? Do you want Fen to fetch him for you?" the midwife cooed, and you lost it. "I have no husband. He's dead. Please, just bring me my brother." the pain fully took over, and you couldn't process anything as the midwife and Fen tried to talk to you.

The fog cleared enough for you to hear the midwife telling you to push. You pushed, hearing Fen talk to you and tell you how good you were doing. "You're doing great, miss. Keep pushing, your first is almost out soon. Come on, come on." Fen urged, and with a guttural scream, one of your children was finally out.

"You got this, miss. Please, you're almost there." you continued to push your body past its limits, forcing your second child out of you. "I see a head! You got this, miss! Keep pushing!" Fen held your baby as the midwife pulled the second one out of you. "Shhh, shhh. They're a boy and a girl, what do you plan to name them?"

Your babies were still bloody and screaming as Fen and the midwife placed them into your arms, but you didn't care. "Zuko for the boy, and Azula for the girl. You're so beautiful. Look at them," you booped their noses, nuzzling into their itty bitty stomachs. "Miss, you need to rest. Please, hand your babies over to us so we can get them and you cleaned up."

You handed them back, leaning your head against the pillow and falling asleep.

"Miss? Miss, please wake up. You need to eat." you shot up, your body aching as Fen was patting your head. "Fen? Where are my children? Where are Zuko and Azula?" the midwife entered the room, your sleeping babies in both of her arms.

"My babies." you started to cry as they slept in your arms. "They're healthy, miss. Do you need Fen to bring someone?" the midwife asked. "No, but I'm broke. I'm broke, ma'am. I only have the clothes on my back. How much?" you started to internally panic.

She waved her hands around. "No need. You clearly just need a bit of kindness. You've been sleeping for a day. How do you feel about eating?" she placed her hand on yours. "No thank you, miss. I couldn't make you feed me. I'm really sorry about my lack of money."

"Don't worry about it. Here, at least take money. You're not allowed to refuse." the midwife dropped some gold coins in your hands, and the tears flowed freely down your face. "Thank- thank you, so much. This is too much, though." you were about to put the money back in her hand, but she stopped you. "No. Go buy yourself something to eat."

"Fen, you go with her. Miss, I hope that's okay." Fen helped you stand up, your body aching as you tried not to collapse. "No, no. It's fine. Thank you, Fen. And please, call me Y/N. You quite literally delivered my children. I will forever be in your debt." Fen led you outside, steadying out your walk.

"You have very beautiful children, Y/N. You named them after your brother and sister, right?" you nodded, and she led you into a little tea shop. "Yes. My older brother Zuko and my younger sister Azula. God, I love them. Before you ask, my husband died in battle. He was a very valiant soldier." you lied through your teeth.

"What do you want?" Fen asked you. "Anything. Just get me what you get." you shrugged, careful of the still sleeping children in your arms. "What do I feed them, though?" Fen giggled at your cluelessness, thinking that it was a joke.

"I'm not kidding. Seriously. What do I feed my children?" you rocked them back and forth, cursing yourself for not learning sooner. "That's pretty alarming, Y/N. But anyway, there's milk in your breasts. You have to let your children latch onto your nipple, and that's their food. You feed them until their teeth start to grow in, and then you introduce soft foods. Like fruits." she explained, and Zuko conveniently decided to wake up.

You prepared yourself for the crying, but it never came. Instead, he gurgled. "Awh. Y/N, you should feed him now. Here," Fen got up, leading you to a restroom. "you do this." she removed your breast from your dress, placing the nipple into Zuko's mouth. He started to happily suck, waking up Azula. She started to gurgle, too, and you latched her onto your other breast.

"See? You're a natural. After we eat, let's buy you a scarf, yeah?" she watched as your children finished up sucking on your breasts, full. "What does a scarf do?" you tucked your chest back into your dress as Fen led you back to your table. "So you can feed Zuko and Azula in a public place without causing commotion. It'll also help you carry them around. Say, where are your friends? Like the girl who brought you to us."

You looked away, not wanting to meet her eyes. "I...don't know. I wish I did. I'm sorry." someone came to take your order, and Fen rattled off something you've never even heard of. "Don't apologize, Y/N. It's not your fault. Awh, look at them."

You looked down to see Zuko and Azula sleeping peacefully, looking like little angels. "How old are your babies, miss?" a third voice joined the conversation. You didn't look up as you answered. "They were delivered yesterday."

"Congratulations, miss. That's a big accomplishment. What are their names?"

"Zuko and Azula."
