"I have Zuko and Azula, Y/N." Yue handed you your children, who were still sleeping. "Thank you. Thank you, so much." you sobbed, grateful that you could see them again. "Don't you think you're overreacting a bit?" you stared at Sokka, unnerving him. "No, because every day could be my last."
With Zuko and an unconscious Aang:
"She was always so weird. She was driven to be the best, except she wasn't. She just simply was. She had no motivation, no spirit, and that's why Azula and I hated her. She lacked everything a good ruler should have, and yet my father still declared her as the Fire Lord to succeed him. She was nice I guess, but she didn't have a personality. She only learned firebending and war tactics to gain my father's favor." Zuko paced, talking to the unconscious and tied up Avatar.
"Y/N's powerful and smart, and that's the only thing going for her. She would follow me and Azula around like a lost puppy, I remember. She was quiet, though, and would leave when one of us asked. She was so obedient, and that's what made Azula really mad. My father told us that while Azula was born lucky, and that I was lucky to be born, we were lucky to have Y/N. She got my father's attention the most, and it was clear that she loved him. She loved us, too, but I can't say that I ever loved her back. I couldn't. There wasn't anything I could love, even if I tried."
"They couldn't've escaped, not in this storm. Cheer up, Katara." Sokka frowned at your nonchalant attitude. "Why are you so calm about this? Did you know that this was going to happen?" he accused, and tears escaped your eyes, the salty water still a pale yellow.
"No, but I know my brother. Zuko won't give up." Yue gasped at Sokka's accusation. "Sokka, how could you say such a thing? It's not her fault!" she defended. "No, Yue, it's fine. I've been questioned my whole life, another person doing so won't affect me." still, the tears ran down silently. "Y/N, I'm-" you raised your hand up. "You're not. It's okay to doubt me, Sokka. I'm used to your sentiments now."
The rest was a blur, and the only thing you could make out was the way your arm swept in an arc, wiping out the Fire Nation soldiers. You were quiet, silent as the night as you ravaged the Fire Nation ships. I'm sorry, my loves. I'll keep you safe. All of your anger, towards everyone and everything, came out as you laid waste to the fleet. You roared, letting the spirit control your movements.
The moon reappeared, and that's when La decided to finally let go. It set you down, moving back towards the oasis. You watched on as you saw a giant hand snatch somebody.
"I'm sorry, guys." everyone embraced you, Sokka placed a gentle hand on your shoulder. The moon is beautiful tonight. You held Zuko and Azula closer to you, so incredibly thankful that you lived to see another day.
