You laughed at Aang and Sokka's display of hairiness. "I'm so glad to have another girl on our team, Toph." Katara rolled her eyes, but Toph came up behind Aang and Sokka, making another joke. "Oh, don't be obnoxious, Katara. And hey, you have me." she ignored your words, cracking a small smile at your friends.

"Katara, lay off her. Toph's getting used to us, you can't force her to do anything as of now." you tried to explain, but Katara was too pissed to see reason. "No. Toph, we all pitch in. Even Y/N does something, and she has two kids to worry about."

"I'm pulling my own weight!" Toph snapped. "Toph, please don't use that tone. We're all-"

"You're not my mom!" your face flashed with hurt. "You're right, I'm not. I can't do anything to stop you, but I can ask. Katara, lay off of Toph. Toph, we'll explain our system of doing everything in the morning. Goodnight, both of you." you set up camp by Toph, wanting to keep watch over her.

You groaned, getting onto Appa. "Okay. It's good that Toph warned us, right?"

"Fuck. Guys, let's not do this now. We're all tired." Katara and Toph continued to argue, and Toph slammed a wall of rock up in front of Katara's face. Katara started to throw a fit, kicking the walls of Toph's tent. "Katara, knock it off." you pushed her back to the sleeping bag, sitting outside of Toph's tent. "Toph, can I join you?" when one of the walls lowered, you took that as a yes.

"The stars sure are beautiful tonight. Too bad you can't see them, Toph." Toph must've done something, because Sokka snapped. "Katara, too far. You can't make fun of someone like that." Toph gripped your arm. "It's back." you groaned. "Come on, then. Let's get moving."

"It could be Zuko. We haven't seen him since the North Pole, after all." you shook your head. "No. My brother doesn't have access to that technology."

"Who's Zuko and why is he your brother?"

"My brother's been after us for-"

"Just some angry freak with a ponytail who's chased us around the world." you grit your teeth. "Sokka, he's not a freak." you chided. "You're really defending him? Zuko, who's been trying to kill us all?"

"My brother's following orders! He doesn't want to hurt us, I know it!" you snapped, feeling anger bubble in your chest. "It's coming again." you groaned, but got up anyway. "Up and at 'em."

"No. Let's stay and fight." fuck. Zuko and Azula. You ran over to Appa, tucking your sleeping children into a safe part of his saddle. "Four on three." Toph declared. "Even with five on three, my sister's the strongest there is."

"She's your sister?!?" Sokka demanded. "Yeah. That's Azula, my younger sister. And there's Mai, and Ty Lee. I knew them from the academy. " Toph drew first strike, creating a wall, but the lizards easily climbed over it. "We need to go." you ushered everyone back to Appa, standing your ground.

"Make sure my kids are safe." you pulled out your fan, sending gusts of wind towards your sister and her friends. When they didn't falter, you knew that you had to take matters into your own hands. "Fuck off!" you yelled, blasting the lizards with fire.

"You're annoying as fuck!" you blocked her fire, retaliating with a ball of fire. "Someone's cranky from no sleep!" she taunted. "Just like old times. You're still annoying as ever." you muttered. Sokka held his hand out, and you took it. He helped you up onto Appa.

"Where are Zuko and Azula?" you asked. You turned to Sokka, who had a guilty expression on his face. You looked down, and there your children were. On his lap. Cuddling into him. You crawled over to him, slapping him as hard as you could. "I told you this before. We are not lovers. You are not the father to my children, don't you dare try and let them get attached. Zuko and Azula will grow up fatherless. How many times do I have to tell you that? I'm serious. Next time I see something like that, it'll be much worse than a slap."

"I'm going." you grabbed the girl's wrist. "Toph, let me go with. Please?" she thought for a moment, before nodding. "Yeah." you scooped up your children, sending one last glare to Sokka. "Good. Thanks.." you set off, following the earthbender.

A familiar voice yelled out in pain, and you climbed over the rock to see a man you were familiar with.  Not any man, though. Uncle Iroh. "My tailbone." he groaned out. Part of you wanted to help him, but the other part of you wanted to run.

Iroh poured you and Toph a cup of tea, handing it to you. "Thank you, Un- sir." you thanked him. "No need to thank me. Sharing a cup of tea with a stranger is one of life's great delights." ah. Same old Uncle Iroh. "Ah. I see. Toph, say thanks to this kind man."

"Say, aren't you two a little too young to be travelling alone?" a cry sounded from your scarf, and you realized the time. "I'm a little too young to be-"

"Aren't you a little too old to be travelling alone?" you started to feed Zuko and Azula, covering your breasts with your scarf.

"Toph, please. I'm sorry for not introducing myself earlier. I'm Jia, and this is my younger sister, Toph. These are my children, Lee and Kyoka. We're Earth Kingdom refugees, we've been fleeing my fam- the Fire Nation. I apologize for my sister. She believes that she doesn't need to be taken care of, and while that's true, she uses it as an excuse to be rude."

"Is your husband travelling with you?" ouch. Invasive much? "No. My husband died in the war. It's just me and Toph, the rest of our village is dead." you lied. "I'm very sorry about your husband. And your village. I can't imagine."

"It's alright, I didn't like him much anyway."

"You remind me a lot of my niece. And you, of my nephew." you froze. Please don't. Please don't. "My niece was very quiet, but she had a fire that no one else recognized. She ran away, though. She has children, too. And you. My nephew..." he continued to talk, and you tuned him out as you cleaned up the mess on your breasts.

"Thank you for the tea, sir, but I believe that it is best that we be on our way now. You're very kind, thank you for keeping us company through these hard times. You've brightened up our day."

"Guys!" you yelled, thrusting Zuko and Azula into Sokka's arms. "Listen to me," you hissed. "I'm only giving my children to you because you can't fight." you heard the crackle of lightning, and then you were off, running towards Azula.

You saw Azula fire a blow at Zuko, and you blocked it before it could hit him. "Back off. He's mine." Zuko jerked his thumb over to Aang. "He's no one's. Not if I have a say in it." you started to battle your sister, overpowering her with nothing but sheer will. You managed to knock her back into a corner.

"A true princess knows when to surrender." you could feel your uncle relax from beside you, and that's when your sister struck. She fired a blast of lightning towards Iroh, and you realized that it was aimed towards him a second too late. The lightning hit your uncle square in the chest, and he crumpled to the ground, screaming in agony. You unleashed everything you had, your companions doing the same. When your attacks were done, Azula was nowhere to be found.

You stared at your uncle, feeling shame bubble up in your chest at his pain. I'm sorry, Uncle Iroh. "Zuko, I can help." Katara took a step forward, but you pushed her out of the way before the arc of fire Zuko unleashed hit her. "Get away from us!" he roared, and get out your friends did. Except for you. You watched for a moment, before Toph pulled you along. "Uncle...Iroh."
