"Oh great. It's Prince Pouty. Where's your creepy grandpa?" you laughed. "He's my uncle. And he's not here." your brother growled. "Our uncle. Y/N of the Fire Nation, nice to meet you."
"And they are?" June gestured to the sleeping children that were on your hips. "Zuko and Azula. Now, enough of the introductions. Let's get down to business."
"He's not dead, just gone. He's probably done some Spirit World shit and taken his body with him." you shrugged. "You're the Spirit World queen, why don't you tell us where in the Spirit World he is?" you froze.
"I don't know."
Zuko held up Uncle Iroh's smelly sandal, and you gagged. "That's... kind of sweet." Toph remarked. "No, it's disgusting. Now, let's find General Iroh." you climbed onto Appa before any of your friends, not wanting to waste any time.
"Ba Sing Se?" you touched the damaged wall, feeling regret make its home in your heart. June left, saying something about Uncle Iroh being close. "Let's camp and start our search again at dawn." you made a noise of agreement, beginning to get yourself situated.
"Ah. Sokka, Y/N. It's nice to see you again." you hugged Piandao. "You're a part of the Order of the White Lotus! I knew it, ever since you gave us that Pai Sho tile." Suki piped up, asking how everyone knew each other, and Piandao gave a quick introduction to the organization.
"It came from a Grand Lotus: your uncle, Iroh of the Fire Nation." you grinned. "Great! Let's go see him. I haven't seen Uncle Iroh in a little bit."
"Did you do anything interesting during the eclipse?" Bumi turned to you specifically, and you gulped. "I learned a new earthbending move?" he snorted. "What about the rest of you?" Sokka and Zuko shared a look. "Nah/No, not really." they said in unison.
"Your uncle's in there, Prince Zuko and Princess Y/N." Zuko went to go sit in front of Uncle Iroh's tent, but you didn't share the sentiment. You were more interested in training, or spending more time with Ran and Shaw.
"What should I do? I want to see my uncle, but Zuko's mad at me. I'd only make it more awkward." you sighed heavily, leaning against Shaw. Zuko and Azula were curled up on Ran, who had taken a liking to them.
"You should-" a gasp cut Ran off. You turned to see an older man. "The Dragon's Crown. The masters have finally chosen a worthy holder." he came to sit by you. "I won't tell anyone. Come, let me take a good look at you." you relaxed, and the strange man pulled your face closer to his.
"Your eyes are beautiful. Oh, forgive me. I'm Jian, from the Sun Warriors." it was your turn to gasp. "Really? You don't mind that I'm... well, me? I stole your Dragon's Crown, and I'm not even Sun Warrior."
"Nonsense. The masters choose anyone who is worthy, and we are taught that it doesn't matter who they choose, we just know that they will rule as our chief forever. Who are you, exactly? You can't be a member, or are you?"
"I am not a member. I came to visit my uncle. And what do you mean, 'forever'?" he didn't mean you would rule until the end of time, right? There was no way. "Forever. You can't die, and you'll rule over the Sun Warriors until they die out. It's as simple as that."
"Thanks for the talk, but I need to go. Ran, Shaw, you can go. It was nice to talk to you, Jian." as much as you'd hate to admit it, you were unnerved by the whole 'until the end of time' thing.
"Uncle, you're the only person other than the Avatar who can possibly defeat the Father Lord." you chuckled. You mean the Fire Lord." Toph pointed out. "That's what I said."
"Uncle Iroh, it's ultimately your decision. We can't force you to do anything." you smiled at your uncle, placing up a hand on his shoulder. He sipped his tea, looking like he was in deep thought. "No. It won't turn out well."
"You can beat him! And we'll be there to help." Zuko protested. "Even if I did manage to defeat Ozai, and I don't know that I could, it would be the wrong way to end the war. History would see it as more senseless violence, a brother killing a brother to grab power. The only way for the war to end peacefully is for the Avatar to defeat the Fire Lord."
"Zuko, you are set to rule the Fire Nation. Y/N, you are the next Sun Warrior chief. I see it in your eyes. You are worthy of the Dragon's Crown, and I can see it. How do you feel about the immortal part, though? Living forever will be hard." you shrugged, trying not to seem upset.
"I'm the chief until the Sun Warriors die out. After that, I don't know. I'll probably move on, find another place to live for eternity. I'll probably help the next Avatars or something. It doesn't matter. Zuko, Katara, I'm coming with you. I need to face Azula."
"Goodbye, Uncle Iroh. I hope to see you again."
