"I felt it too, Aang." you did. It felt like the swamp was calling you. You couldn't see what was going on, but it felt like you were having a crash landing. "What's going on?!?" your question was met with screams from your friends. That can't be good. You huddled into yourself, intent on protecting Zuko and Azula.
You slammed into the water, your back aching with the force of your landing. "Is everyone alright?" you checked over your children, sagging in relief when you saw that they didn't have a scratch on them. Sokka started to cut through the vines, grumbling to himself as Aang and Katara warned him not to.
Something curled around your leg, and you screamed, burning it off with fire. It wouldn't let you go, though. It dragged you, belly-up, into a part of the swamp away from everyone else. Zuko started to cry, and you did all that you could to hush him as you tried to find your friends."Sokka! Momo! Appa! Aang!" you yelled, trying to see something. You caught a glimpse of someone familiar, and you ran towards them. "Mama! Mama! I've missed you!" you cried, and the older woman turned to face you. "Y/N..." you started to sob, holding your children close as you finally reached your mother. "Come...back..." you held your hand out to touch her, but she dissipated into the air.
"Mom? I knew it. I knew you would leave! You let me die! You let me die, and now you wanna play tricks on me! Leave me alone!" you screamed, your voice cracking as you sobbed. "Leave me alone. I'm a mom now, mom. And I won't let my children die!" you slammed your hand into the water, feeling loneliness wash over you. Stop acting like this. It's ridiculous. But you couldn't stop. You couldn't control yourself as you cried.
"I hate you! I hate you! You let me die! You let me die, you can't do this! You can't show up and leave suddenly! I have a life of my own!" you cried, falling to your knees. "You don't- you don't- you don't have a right! I have my own life now! Leave me alone. You can't let me die, and then try and come back as an illusion."
"Y/N, are you okay-" someone hugged your shoulder, but you couldn't register it as you continued to cry. "Leave me alone, mom. I have a life of my own, you can't do that. You let me die. You let me die. You let me die." you started to rock yourself back and forth, scaring your friends. "You can't just show up out of the blue. You let me die, and now I'm here. Suffering, because I died. You can't just show up out of me blue and tell me to come back home.
"I can't die now, because who would take care of Zuko and Azula? I can't just leave my children." you started to ramble, not paying attention to your surroundings as your friends tried to snap you out of it. Sokka slapped the back of your head, and you finally stopped, looking around. "Hey, guys. What's up?" you asked, trying to distract them from the situation at hand.
Sokka opened his mouth, but Katara slammed her hand on top of it, preventing him from saying anything. You screamed as vines took hold of you, slamming your back into the river. You started to fight it, burning the vines with fire and rendering them unable to grow back. Katara managed to slice through the vines, revealing an old man.
"Time is an illusion." you snorted. "Yeah? Wise words." you grinned at the old man. "But seriously. Don't do that shit again. I have children, and you could've harmed them." you were floored about the visions, but it still didn't make sense. Your mother wasn't dead. She was alive, just in another world. Yeah. That was it. Aang did his Avatar thing, and he found where Appa and Momo were.
