Usually, during long drives, some people would fall asleep and that's what I planned for but it was impossible to not stare out the window of the moving car. It was truly beautiful and especially since the sun was setting.
Silver Arrow was the leader of Red Shadows. I didn't know silver arrow's identity, last time I checked nobody did. Rumors said it was because he's too young or it's a fake gang ran under another for power. He was known for making his way up the charts to my father's gang, Splitting Aces, and another popular gang at the time, Ruthless Claws.
Staring at the haunted looking mansion, it brought back memories of my toxic childhood and adolescence growing up. I hated that I was back here but I needed to find my brother. At the end of the day, family over all.
Even over my own selfishness.
Shaking my head, I turned to the car. "Thanks," I tell the driver before handing him the money and taking my suitcase out of the trunk. I packed light because I'll be going back to college in two months. Two freaking months I'll be in this town. I took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell and hearing my mother's voice faintly behind the door. "Oh my god!" My mother immediately grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug. I dropped my bag and hugged her back.
"Who's at the door?" I hear my father asked and I froze. The person I was dreading to see. When he appeared in the opening, his eyes flared with anger. "I told you not to call her!" He screamed at my mother. "She is part of our family, Ron," my mother defended. I felt a pang in my chest, knowing that my father didn't want me involved with whatever happening.
When my mother told me silver arrow kidnapped my brother, she didn't tell me any more details. I quickly booked the flight and got here as soon as possible. "Not after she left! I bet she's happy they took Kieron," he was quick to assume. "Shut up! She wouldn't be here if that was the case," my mother defended, taking my suitcases and walking up the staircase. I stood there, staring at my father with disgust on his face. "You shouldn't be here. You probably regret leaving and took the first opportunity you have to come back," he scoffed, now glaring at me.
"Father, leave her alone. She can help us get Kieron back and you know it. She's one of the best only she didn't use her talent like the rest of us," the voice of my older brother Killian said as he descended the steps.
I look at him in shock.
His blonde hair was now black with red streaks, his face had a couple of scars and not to mention the stubble he was growing. Killian definitely got more muscular and now he looks like a threat more than a goofy guy. So much has changed with us.
"Killian," I simply said. He grinned before running to pull me into a tight hug. "I missed you so much, Liv," he shared and I frowned. That's the first sign I had that he's still my soft brother somehow. "I missed you too," I truthfully say. "Can someone tell me what happened to Kieron?" I added seriously, pulling out of the hug. Killian sighed and nodded his head. My father just stood there stubbornly.
"It's actually our fault," Killian started and my father scoffed. That was just confirmation.
