"It feels good to be back!" Tori takes a deep breath in while she finishes up putting her clothes in her closet.
We meet up with Draco and the goons in the hallway and we all head down to the Great Hall for dinner.-
"Hey Deveroux!"
I look up and saw Jake Lawrence leaning against the couch.
He yells out loud enough for everyone in the common room to hear, "You sure you don't wanna take a chance with me? I got even better looking over the summer."
My eyes are glued to Lawrence as a smug smile stretched across his face.I close my eyes and took a deep breath in, and started to see nothing but darkness.
I began to black out.I tackled him.
I slammed his body against the floor and went into a rage. My fist started to bleed with every impact I made to his perfect jaw.
Of course, my fist may have also hit a nose or an eye or two as he's tried to cock his head away from me.Splatters of blood spray on the wall near us. I twist his arm so far back he flips over in hope to alleviate the pain, but I clenched onto a fist full of his hair and began to whack his skull against the pavement constantly.
My knee digs into the dip of his back cause him to arch his back, screaming for mercy. I wrap my fingers around his hair and forcefully yank it back, his neck stretching and bending it so far back that I've cracked a few knots.
I whisper into his ear, "You wouldn't be able to handle me, Lawrence."
I hop off of him and smirk down at the trembling body that laid on the floor in front of me. I fix my hair, which was perfectly styled until someone decided to piss me off, and I wipe the gashes on my knuckles that were oozing blood.
I looked around the room with everyone eyes on me, mouths gaped open.
Draco and Tori are the only ones smiling. I smile and turned to the goons, "Let's go get dinner."-
Other houses stayed clear of me on our way to the Great Hall.
Slytherin gossip never disappoints. It was different, I admit it, but still better than everyone assuming I was the Slytherin slut.
We sat down at the Slytherin table, waiting for our new school year announcements.
I fiddled with the gauze that I got from Madame Pomfrey before we got here. She believed me when I told her my hand got caught in our Care of Magical Creatures monster book."Good punch, Deveroux," Pansy calls out from the end of the table. She and Millicent both look at me before moving their gaze to Draco.
"Hi Draco!" They both bat their eyes flirtatiously.
Draco raises his eyebrows in acknowledgement before looking back to me with a proud smirk on his face.Blaise breaks the silence, "Are we not gonna talk about what just happened?"
"What happened?" A smug smile appears on my face.
Blaise continues, "What exactly was that?! You just attacked him!"
I set my hands on the table, "He was pissing me off. He deserved it."
Tori chimes in, "You could've just hexed him."I turn to her and smile, "But where's the fun in that?"
-
The first years have been sorted into their respective houses, and were awaiting for the feast to begin. Dumbledore walks to the podium and begins his announcements.
"This castle will not only be your home this year... but it will also be the home to some very special guests as well," He exclaims.
Murmurs between each table began to grow as Dumbledore continued to speak. "Hogwarts has been chosen to host the TriWizard Tournament! A champion from three schools will compete for eternal glory, but be warned... the tasks each champion must overcome are very dangerous. If you are selected, you must face these challenges alone."
The Great Hall goes quiet."Now please, join me in welcoming the ladies of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, with their headmistress, Madame Maxine!"
The familiar blue uniforms enter the Great Hall in a feminine fashion. They skipped in sync as butterflies fluttered around them. Gymnasts danced and twirled after the girls, while Madame Maxine followed closely behind. All the Hogwarts boys drooled over the girls in their dresses.
Draco leans closer to me to ask, "Anyone look familiar?"
I continue to look through the group of girls, "I hope not."
He backs away before leaning in again, "Do you still have the uniform? I would love to see you try them on for me."
I whack him on the back of his head, hard. He rubs the area, "I was just kidding, Great Merlin."
I roll my eyes.Dumbledore announces, "And now our friends from the North! Please welcome the sons of Durmstrang, with their High Master, Igor Karkaroff!"
Boys come marching through the doors with sticks pounding the floors. They break into flips and jump as more boys come through.
I hear Ron say, "That's Viktor Krum!"
We all turn our heads to the entrance where sure enough, Viktor Krum walks in with Master Karkaroff following behind him. As Viktor passes our table to where I'm sitting, he winks at me.
Tori leans over to me to whisper, "Do you know him?"
I nod.-
We all pour back into our common room after dinner. I take a seat on the couch with Tori right beside me.
I sink into the cushions, "You'd have to be mental to want to participate in the tournament."
Blaise asks amusingly, "Eternal glory doesn't sound appealing to you?"
I smile at him, "I'm a Deveroux. How much better can I get?"
Tori turns to me, "So how do you know Krum?"
"You know Viktor Krum?" A hint of jealousy is shown in Draco's voice and on his face as he squeezed his way between Tori and I.
"Why else do you think I went to watch the World Cup?"
They all look at me, as I still haven't answered Tori's question.
I take a deep sigh, "Old family friend. Nice guy. Haven't seen him much since he went North."
