At the edge of Hogwarts Lake, I sit beneath a large oak tree that's providing me with tremendous shade. I see a figure walking down the pavement in my direction. After closer inspection, I see it's Viktor Krum.

"Joy!" His heavy Bulgarian accent makes him seem like he's cutting short on his words.
I wave him over, "Hi Vik. What are you doing here?" He takes a seat next to me. "I need to ask you something." I nod, "Sure."

"Do you know the girl that reads books? Always with Harry Potter and the other boy?"
Is he talking about... "Hermione?"
He nods his head, "...Is she going to the ball?" I giggle at how shy he's getting. Viktor Krum- shy. "I don't know Viktor, I don't really talk to her anymore, but you should ask her." I shake his shoulders, "She's really nice." He smiles at me before standing and walking away. He takes a few steps before he stops, "Oh, by the way, a few Durmstrang boys have been asking about you." I raise my eyebrows in question before he goes on, "Tell me whoever causes you too much trouble. I will punish them, no problem." He winks at me and I laugh, "Alright alright, go get your date, hot stuff." He walks back to the castle, with the determination to get his date.

"Can we please go to Hogsmeade this weekend?" Tori pleads while I'm folding my clothes.
"What for? Christmas is still a while away." She scoffs, "To go dress shopping!" I momentarily pause, "I don't even know if I'm going." She stares at me, "You're not going?!" I shut my dresser shut, "No one's asked me yet."
Tori stands up and stands between me and my dresser. "That's bullshit, Joy. Before lunch, two Gryffindors and a Slytherin asked you." I move towards my bed, "And I told them I'd think about it." I take a seat on my bed. As Tori does the same. "Are you sure you're just not waiting for a certain someone to ask you?"

I admit, I did picture myself to be going as Draco's date. But I know Draco is not the type to partake in these kind of events, so I'm weighing my options with the other gentlemen who have already asked me.

I pause before answering her, "Alright we can go shopping this weekend. For you."

Tori and I were leaving the Three Broomsticks on our way to the dress shop, as I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Joy?" I turn to find Cedric Diggory standing in front of me. "How are you?"

I motion for Tori to go on and that I'll meet her at the shop.

I put my attention back towards Cedric. "I'm good, Diggory. Yourself?" He pauses for a second before staring down at the floor.
"I uhm..." He looks back up at me, "...I was wondering if you'd like to be my date to the Yule ball?" Wow, how cute. I smile at him before saying, "Diggory, don't you fancy Cho Chang?" He smiles and looks down at the floor again. "Yeah, but I don't really know if she'd go with me." I raise one eyebrow, "So you asked me as a Plan B?"
He starts to panic. "No no! I didn't mean—"
I chuckle at his nervousness. "Don't worry, Diggory." I run my hands through my hair. "First of all, I am no one's second choice. Second of all, you should ask Chang." I place my hand on his shoulder, "I mean you battled a dragon... I'm sure you could handle rejection if she says no." He laughs at my comment. "You know, for a Slytherin, you're not too bad. I'll see you around, Joy." I start to walk toward the dress shop before turning back around.
"Oh! Cedric?" He looks back at me, "Good luck. With Chang and the tournament." He nods before re-entering the Three Broomsticks.

As Tori tries on dresses, I've started to journal down a few names as I sit on the display couch waiting for her. Tori comes out of the changing room, to show off a dark emerald dress. "I think I really like this one." She twirls in front a mirror, "What do you think?"
I'm not paying attention as I continue to write down names. Tori becomes curious to what I'm writing down, "What are you doing?" She begins to walk over to me. "Weighting out my options."
Tori looks down at the parchment. "They all asked you to the Yule Ball?!" I smugly smile, "Mhm." She stands up and goes back into the changing room. She yells out for me to hear, "There's gonna be a lot of broken hearts, there's only one of you!"

Draco and Blaise sees us through the shops windows and enters the shop. I call out to her, "Tori, the boys are here!"

Blaise jumps over the back of the couch to sit next to me, as Draco walks around it instead. Tori comes out of the changing room, and hangs the dresses she's tried on back on the rack. "What's this?" Blaise looks over my shoulder, "A list of conquests?" He chuckles. Tori stands next to Blaise and hits his back. "Actually, these are all the guys that asked Joy to the Yule Ball." Draco eyes out the list and snatches it. "Hey!" I yelp.
"They all asked you?" He memorized all the names that I've written down, "Well, thanks. Now I know who's on my shit list." I roll my eyes as I follow Tori and Blaise out of the shop.
We're making our way back to the carriages to get back to Hogwarts when Tori asks, "So Draco, are you going to the ball?"
"I don't know." He puts his arms around my shoulders, "Are we going to the Yule Ball, love?" I scoff, "Is this your way of asking me?" We continue to walk to the carriages, "Well... yeah?" I shake my head before pushing his arm off of me.

"Do better."
