DESTINY 57 - THE TRUTH

AZIEL POV

"What the hell was that?!" I slammed the door close to kuya's office. "Bakit nasa kwartong 'yon si Yesha?! That's not our plan!"

"That is the plan, Aziel." He nonchalantly answered.

"No, it's not." I insisted gritting my teeth. "We're supposed to be faceless but you lead them there. Nakita na nila ako. Alam na nilang ako ang kalaban nila."

"So? Magpapakilala rin naman tayo. Nauna ka lang."

I shook my head, dismayed.

He leaned to his chair and crossed his arms in his chest. "May problema ba kung kilala ka na nila?" His eyes bore into mine, scrutinizing. "Why do I get this feeling that you don't want them to know. You don't want Yesha to know." He emphasized the last sentence. "Are you worried that you'll lose your ate?" He asked mockingly. "I saw that, Aziel. I saw the uneasiness in your eyes when you saw her." He stood up and placed his palms on the table while leaning forward to my direction. "Now, tell me nagagalit ka ba dahil hindi nasunod ang sinasabi mong plano o may iba ka pang dahilan?"

His question rendered me unable to react. That hit me differently. Something I can't name stirred inside me.

"Mayroon ba, Aziel?" Kuya repeated with gaze fixated on me.

"No, walang ibang dahilan. Iniisip ko lang na hindi na ako makakapag-espiya sa kanila ngayong kilala na nila ako."

He sat down again. "Good. And you don't have to spy anymore. Nakuha na natin ang kailangan natin. Sabi mo nga target locked. Nasunod pa rin naman natin ang plano. Napilayan natin ang babaeng 'yon. Pero sa tingin ko, hindi umabot sa puso niya ang sakit."

My forehead furrowed.

"You said she has a soft heart towards her friends. Kaibigan niya ang tauhan niyang 'yon, hindi ba?"

I nodded.

"Pero wala akong nakitang emosyon sa kanya kahit pa nakita niyang ikaw mismo ang nagpapahirap sa kaibigan niya. That's why I intended for her to see you to double the pain-"

"You used me? Without even telling me?" I asked him in disbelief.

"Is there anything wrong with that? She values you. Imagine the pain she would feel seeing her beloved little brother hurt her friend."

I slowly shook my head in disbelief. I can't explain why but I don't like that I was used to hurt her. And that's fvcked up.

"But...there was nothing. She didn't even shed a single tear."

Her eyes didn't but her heart did.

You didn't see it but I did.

ELLIE POV

Dalawang hilera ng puting Lilies mula sa entrance ng grand hall ang dinaanan ng kabaong ni Jerome na buhat ng mga kagrupo niya, dalawa sa magkabilang gilid. Sa harap naman ay si Captain. Sa likod ay si Yesha.

Habang dumadaan sila, palakas din ng palakas ang hikbi ng mga tao sa loob habang nagsasaboy sila ng petals ng red at peach rose sa daraanan nito. Pula na sumisimbolo sa katapangan at peach para sa pasasalamat.

Pagdating sa harap, yumukod ang lahat ng taong naroon at nagbigay-pugay bago ipinatong ang kabaong sa maliit na platform.

Nagtungo sina Captain at Yesha kasama sina Anton, Lester, Vince at Jeff sa kanang bahagi ng bulwagan kung nasaan naroon sina Rekx at Rehayna kasama ang mga miyembro ng Yrieum. Sabay-sabay yumukod ang mga ito at nagpaliwanag si Anton kung anong nangyari kay Jerome.
