I got dressed in the Slytherin uniform and pulled my hair into a braid, two strands of white hair falling down in front of my face. I grab my "Divination: A Guide" book, tea leaves cheat sheet, and horoscope chart in case we would be doing that today instead, my Defense Against the Dark Arts book, made sure to put my wand in the pocket inside of my robe, and my new purple quill and a roll of parchment and put all of my stuff in my bag, slinging it over my shoulder and exiting the girls' dormitory.
It was really early in the morning, so barely any students would be awake at this time. I exited the common room and made my way out of the dungeons and up the stairs to the Great Hall. As I entered, I saw only a few students at the Slytherin table, but they were all seventh years. I scanned the rest of the room, the rest of the tables.
I looked at the Ravenclaw table for Luna, but didn't see her. The Ravenclaw table was empty besides a black haired girl I've never met, I just know she's Seeker for their team from the times I sat in on their practices. She seemed nice, but I wasn't going to sit by her.
I then scanned the Hufflepuff table for anyone, really. Hannah Abott was sitting there, but I didn't really talk to her and have only met her once when she dropped her quill on the ground and I picked it up for her. She got scared of me— probably because I'm Slytherin— and ran off.
I sighed at the memory and scanned the rest of the table. I saw a sixth year, he was a Hufflepuff Prefect. He was fairly handsome and was staring at the girl at Ravenclaw. They made eye contact and she blushed, looking back down. I rolled my eyes and looked over at the Gryffindor table.
I saw a couple of people I knew. I saw Angelina Johnson sitting next to Oliver Wood, both on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Angelina was a Chaser and Oliver was the team captain and a Keeper. I watched their practice as well, they were really good. I scanned the rest of the table and saw a second year, Colin. He had his large, chunky camera in his hands and was looking around the Great Hall anxiously, a smile on his face. I kept looking and spotted Hermione. I smiled and walked over towards her.
I sit down in front of her and set my bag down on the ground. Her face was in a book, like always, and she didn't notice me sitting by her. I sat down comfortably and folded my hands together, resting my head on my hands and staring at Hermione, waiting for her to notice me. It must've been a few minutes because she still hasn't noticed me, so I clear my throat and she looks up, getting slightly startled by my presence. I laugh a little and put myself some eggs.
"Lila, you scared me." Hermione asks me. "What are you doing here?"
I take a bite of my eggs and stare back at her, shrugging. Her light brown hair was down and her bangs fell on her face, unstyled. I swallowed my eggs and looked up at her, smiling slightly.
"I came to sit by my friend, of course. Am I not allowed to do that?" I ask her sarcastically, faking my offense. She laughs a little and shakes her head, putting herself some food as we both eat.
"Of course you are, Lila. You have Defense Against the Dark Arts first as well, correct?" She asks me. I nod at her and she groans.
"We also have Divination today. I swear, that class is slowly killing me every time I attend. It's a load of rubbish, and we can't even use books to study more. It's the worst, honestly." Hermione complains, looking back down at her book and continuing to read.
"I don't think so. Sure, Trelawney can be a little mental, but it's a good class." I tell her.
She scoffs and looks up from her book, giving me a dirty look as she places her bookmark in between the pages she left off at.
"You only like it because Trelawney favors you. That's why you get perfect marks. Oh, and don't forget the fact that she knows you're a Seer. She thinks everything you do is perfect just because you have the Sight. It's pathetic and frustrating." Hermione states.
