Later that day I bought fireworks from the twins, a lot of them and borrowed Harry's invisibility cloak to sneak into her office so the cats on her walls wouldn't see me. I shoved the fireworks in her desk drawers and rigged them so that when she would open her desk drawers, that's when they would go off.
Let's just say it was perfect.
She had opened her desk drawers right before dinner and she was covered in soot.
"Someone has been in my office." She said, "They put fireworks in my desk drawers so that when I opened them they'd go off." She walked into the great hall.
"Who did this?" Dumbledore questioned but Mcgongall held a smirk and I held a straight face.
"I know exactly who did this." She said, then looked at me. "Aria Potter."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I began, saying this all with a straight face, "What evidence do you have to back up this claim?" She just looked at me, shocked that I didn't cave. I saw the proud looks from Fred and George. "Plus, the only time I was ever in your office was for detention, you can ask your mangy cat plates."
She has had a strong hatred for me ever since.
Now......................................
It wasn't long after that McGonagall and Umbridge had a yelling match in the corridor on the steps. "Pardon me, professor but what exactly are you insinuating?" Umbridge questioned McGonagall.
"I am merely requesting that when it comes to my students you conform to the prescribed disciplinary practices." Professor McGonagall told her as everyone gathered to see what was going on.
"So silly of me but sounds as if you're questioning my authority in my own classroom, Minerva." Umbridge then takes a step up on the stairs becoming eye level with McGonagall but also as if she was signifying something else. Signifying that she had more authority than even The Minerva McGonagall herself.
"Not at all, Dolores, merely your medieval methods." McGonagall told her, taking a step up so they were on the same level.
"I am sorry, dear, but to question my practices is to question the Ministry and by extension, the minister himself. I am a tolerant woman but the one thing I will not stand for is disloyalty." Umbridge said and McGonagall took a step down.
"Disloyalty." McGonagall muttered.
"Things at Hogwarts are far worse than I feared. Cornelius will want to take immediate action." Umbride said, not speaking to McGonagall but to everyone. That is when everything went downhill and Hogwarts was no longer the same.
She started with nominating herself High Inquisitor at Hogwarts and she got the position.
She reviewed all of the teachers. The best part of that was being there when she was reviewing Snape. "You applied first for the Defense Against the Dark Arts post, is that correct?" She questioned.
"Yes." He answered in his monotone voice.
"But you were unsuccessful?" She asked in a mocking tone with a pout.
"Obviously." The potions teacher answered and I was trying not to laugh and so was Ron and he got a smack on the head for it.
Draco and I had to start being sneakier. We were lucky enough to evade her a few times but we've resorted to snogging in closets but when we would hear the click of her heel we'd stop until she would walk past. I can happily say we've only been caught once though cause we didn't hear her heels click until it was too late and she opened the door to see us snogging.
