12: Bitches Broken Hearts

Billie's POV

I haven't spoken to anyone since speaking to Elaine yesterday. To say I'm hurt would be an understatement, my ego was bruised and my heart broken. Her words kept ringing in my mind "it was just an experiment" and that broke me but I knew there was more to this than she was letting out. My thoughts were soon disturbed by mom.

Maggie: Billie sweetie you have to get ready for your interview with Our Times

Billie: when is it?

Maggie: in two hours

Billie: sure

I then go to freshen up and wear my typical baggy clothes and tie my hair into a messy space bun. I then head down after 30 minutes.

Maggie: aren't you eating?

Billie: no I'm fine

Fin: but you have to eat something

Billie: I said I'm fine okay?

I instantly regret snapping at him

Billie: look I'm sorry but please leave me alone

Everyone has their breakfast then we head to the Our Times studio. We were now in the car.

Billie: we are gonna perform Bitches Broken Hearts

Fin: Billie but that's not what we rehearsed

Billie: I don't care that's what we are perform nonetheless

Fin: sure.

When we arrived in the studio we were given room to prepare and I just wanted to be alone. So I put on my headphones on and listened to the playlist Elaine created which consisted of Kehlani, Jessie Reyez, Sabrina Claudio, Elaine, 6lack and my song Ocean Eyes.

Elaine's POV

I woke up and it was already 7am I went to freshen up and wore my gyming gear. Headed downstairs and greeted Zara, took a water bottle and off I went jogging. I love jogged because it keeps my mind off things so I jogged for about an hour then went back. I quickly went to freshen up and wore sweat pants and one of the hoodies I stole from Billie's closet.  Yes I knew very well that what I was doing was toxic but wearing her clothes and smelling like her made me feel close to her. I then head downstairs.

Zara: good to see you up and running again... literally

Elaine: (giggle)thank you for taking care of me

Zara:  it's okay you also took care of me when I needed you (smile) your breakfast is in the oven

Elaine: Nah I'm fine

Zara: okay.... I'm about to watch this show Our Times every week they host different celebrities and you never know who they're hosting

Elaine: okay it sounds interesting

We then went to the TV and watched the show it started and the host introduced them self and the artist

Host: today we have non other than pop sensation Billie Eilish

Zara: we can change if you want

Elaine: no it's fine I wanna see her...this is probably the closest I'll ever get to her

I then sit and watch the interview attentively and I can tell she's hurting but then the time for her to perform came and what she performed left my jaw on the ground. She was performing a song called Bitches Broken Hearts and in the song she was really coming for me. Zara kept giving me stares.

Zara: we can still change the channel if you want y'know?

Elaine: no it's fine

After sometime the show ended and I didn't realise a tear had escaped and Zara wiped it away.

Zara: you liked her didn't you?

Elaine: I did I really did but now it's just a sad love story

Zara: you remember when we met at the airport you were quick to say you're not gay why is that?

Elaine: I don't know

Zara: don't you think that's kind of your defence mechanism because you're in denial of your sexuality?

Elaine: you think?

Zara: probably you should learn to let loose and explore

Elaine: well I ain't gotta have time for that cause I gonna start job hunting again.

Zara: okay I see ya

Elaine: yep I'm chasing that bag

Zara: I'll help you
