Elaine's POV

It was just a normal day in the O'Connell household. Skylar was much better now but she hadn't taken her cast off. She was in the living room watching cartoons while I was in the kitchen preparing dinner, the house is an open floor plan so I could see her. My wife wasn't at home as usual as she's always busy with interviews and stuff.  Skylar came to me and clung onto my leg.

I lift her up and put her on the kitchen counter.

Elaine: mommie's angel, do you want to taste?

I give her a taste of what I was cooking.

She struggls to get down so I help her down. She then runs to watch TV, after that Billie walked in and Skylar flew to her.

She goes to freshen up and I continue cooking, after a short while she comes back and we eat dinner while I help Skylar out because of the cast on her dominant hand.

Elaine: how was your day?

Billie: stressful, the interviewers changed the venue in the last minute so we had to take a two hour drive to the venue.

Elaine: poor you, you must be tired?

Billie: I was but freshening up did the trick, how was your day?

Elaine: (giggle) is that even a question? You know there's never a dull moment with Skylar around.

Billie: yeah, how is she?

Elaine: she's doing much better, when I examined her today she said she felt slight pain

Billie: but she didn't trouble you?

Elaine: not really because I managed to do virtual follow ups with a few patients

We talked while eating when I was done I put the dishes in the dish washer and went to bathe Skylar and tucked her in bed. After all that I went to my bedroom and found Billie sitting on the chair writing something but I could tell that she wasn't okay. I got up and went and massaged her.

Elaine: you look tense

She just groans in relief, she was so tense. I guess what I was doing was working.
