Billie's POV

After what felt like a decade of dreading going home, I finally go. When I get there it was quiet and the lights were turned off as it was already a little over midnight. I get in our bedroom then head for the bathroom. When I was about to get in the bathroom I hear Elaine's sniffles and she sits up straight in the bed.

Elaine: Billie

Billie: mmhmm?

Elaine: can I talk to you

I turn around and look at her.

Elaine: I hate when we're not in good terms and it's not good for the kids. Billie I love you I really do but I can't do this, I don't want to keep fighting with you. Hence I'm asking that we take a break.

I look at her with eyes wide open.

Billie: what?

Elaine: please don't fight me

I walk up to her and get on the bed and push her down and get on top of her.

Elaine's POV

I was so tired of fighting with Billie, I just needed a break from this. I was planning on visiting my family in South Africa with the kids. When I told her that she wanted to fight me on it but I pleaded with her not to so she got on the bed and pushed me down then got on top of me.

Billie: mamas, I'm sorry

Elaine: Billie I think it would be best if I visited my mom with the kids.

She pulls me down and kiss me and I kiss her back too.

Elaine: Billie I...

Billie: sssh

She shuts me up and we continue kissing. Then we go further.

We were now lying in bed looking at the ceiling.

Elaine: Billie I haven't changed my mind

She keeps quiet

Elaine: we're not divorcing, I just feel like we argue a lot lately and that's unlike us. I just want us to give each other space. Maybe it'll remind us why we fell for each other. So do you allow me to go with the kids?

Billie: if it makes you happy

Elaine: thank you

I then got off the bed and went to freshen up and when I came back she wasn't there anymore. I wore my PJs and slept

I woke up in the morning and went to freshen up. After that I went downstairs and found Billie making breakfast.

Elaine: good morning

Billie: morning, I made breakfast you want some?

Elaine: yes please

Ever since I've known Billie things have never been this awkward between us. I sat in the chair and she dished up for us and we ate in silence. After breakfast I clear up the dishes and put them in the dish washer.

Billie: when are you leaving?

Elaine: I haven't decided but in a few days

Billie: mmhmm

I steal a glance at her and she was staring at me.

Billie: I'll just hit the road now

Elaine: okay don't forget to pick up the kids.

She walks up to me and kiss my cheek, then walks out the door. After I was done tidying up I sit on the sofa and watch TV. 

After sometime I'm woken up by the noise from Skylar and Aidan getting in the house. I sit up straight and smile at them.

Skylar: mommie!

Elaine: (smile) angels how are you?

Skylar: good

Elaine: did you have fun at grandma's?

She gives me a big smile and nods. Billie puts Aidan in the sofa next to me and he crawls to me.

Elaine: how is my big boy doing? He's good? Yes he is! mommie missed you

I listen to Skylar who tells me all about what they did over the weekend with her grandparents. After that we went to sleep.
