192: stole my best friend

Elaine's POV

Billie has been sleeping in the guest room for the past few days. We were supposed to spend the weekend together since the kids went to her parent's house but she's hardly here.  So instead of sitting here all alone I decide to go to the hospital just to check how things are going. When I get there I do a few rounds and check on some patients and my stafff. When I was leaving I hear a familia laugh coming from Brian's office, I couldn't help but go knock.

Brian: come in

I found him and Zara sitting on top of his desk laughing.

Elaine: oh so this is the person who stole my best friend

She gets off the desk and comes to hug me.

Zara: hey how are you?

Elaine: I'm good, hey Brian

Brian: hey how are you?

Elaine: I'm good, I just came by to check how things are going

Brian: oh I see

Elaine: I'll leave y'all to it then

Zara: oh no I was just leaving

Brian: you were?

Zara: yes I was

Brian: okay

They kiss

Brian: I love you

Zara: I love you more

We then walk out and go to some restaurant for lunch

Zara: so how have you been?

Elaine: I've been good, you?

Zara: I'm good, you look sad thou

Elaine: I'm not sad

Zara: what's bothering you?

Elaine: nothing

Zara: Elaine talk to me

Elaine: (sigh) Billie and I aren't in good terms,  we even sleep in separate rooms

Zara: why? What happened?

Elaine: you remember the day we went to those awards?

Zara: yeah?

Elaine: I found Daniella dancing on Billie, she was basically lap dancing on her in front of everyone

Zara: gosh that bitch is still alive?

Elaine: I asked her about it and she said she liked her

Zara: she what? Oh no no no

She takes out her phone and dials

Elaine: who are you calling?

Zara: Billie

Elaine: no no no don't

I was too late as Billie had already answered

Billie: Zara

Zara: how dare you, you tell Elaine your wife that you like another woman

Billie: (sigh) Elaine is just overreacting, I just told her what she wanted to hear

Zara: what is wrong with you?

Billie: Zara I'm in the middle of something here, if you don't mind

Zara: oh no Eilish yo...

It was too late she had already dropped the call on her. I looked at her with eyes full of tears and she gave me that reassuring smile.

Elaine: I'm tired I want to leave

Zara: should I drive you?

Elaine: no I'll be fine

We hug then I get in the car and drive while crying.

Billie's POV

I was so pissed after I got the call from Zara. How mature of her to run to Zara, I get she's her best friend but some things are just private. I was hanging out with Drew and Zoe.

Drew: who was that?

Billie: Zara

Zoe: what did she want?

Billie: she was just nagging me about Elaine

Drew sat up straight and looked at me.

Drew: what happened?

Billie: I don't know I was just dancing with Dani

Zoe: Nah man, she wouldn't just get angry at you for dancing

Billie: well I don't know what to say then

Drew: Dani has a crush on you so you can't blame Elaine for being mad

Billie: she was also friends with Alex

Zoe: oh s this is revenge?

Billie: no of course not

Zoe: what is it then?

I just run my hands in my hair.

Drew: dude go and apologize

Billie: let's just game

Zoe: so you're not gonna apologize?

Billie: I did nothing wrong

Drew: don't you see that it's more than that, bro Elaine loves you and she just got jealous.

Zoe: yeah and you shouldn't have said you liked Dani

Drew: I don't even know why you're still friends with her

Billie: (sigh) y'all want a snack?

Zoe: running away from this won't solve it
