Elaine's POV

My shift just ended so I head to Alex's shop as I really wanted to talk to her. When I get there I find the shop closed. I stand there still thinking what to do next that's when a old man came to me.

Man: you lost?

Elaine: no sir am not, I was looking for the owner

Man: why don't you go look for her in her other shop?

Elaine: (smile) care to direct me to the other shop?

The old man gives me directions then I take an hour drive. When I get there I'm greeted by Star with a smile and she hugs me.

Star: oh hi

Elaine: hi how are you?

Star: I'm fine dear, what brings you here?

Elaine: I'm looking for Alex I want to talk to her

Star: oh she just went out

Elaine: oh I'll wait for her

Star: okay go wait for her in her office it's the second door on your left

Elaine: okay thank you

I go to her office and wait for her. After a few minutes Star comes to give me coffee.

Elaine: thank you but you didn't have to

Star: nonsense I had to

Elaine: thank you

Star: sure, Alex said she's on her way okay?

Elaine: okay thank you

She walks out and I drink the coffee then curiousity gets the best of me and I stand up and take an up close look of the paintings on the wall.

Alex: they're beautiful aren't they?

Elaine: yes they're very beauti...

Then it got to me that, that's Alex. I was so mesmerised by the painting I didn't even hear her come in.

Alex: so what do you want?

Elaine: I'm here to apologize

Alex: (eye roll)

Elaine: I'm sorry I really am

Alex: what are you apologizing for? For leading me on or fucking your ex?

Elaine: Alex I..I didn't mean to lead you on I thought I was over her

Alex: so you thought?

Elaine: (silence)

Alex: did she give it to you good?

My eyes widen

Alex: (chuckle) yeah she did didn't she?

Elaine: Alex please...

Alex: Elaine get out

Elaine: Alex I...

Alex: I said get out!

Elaine: no I won't get out until you hear me out! I know I wronged you okay? but please let me at least explain then after that you'll never hear from me again

She just looks at me so I take that as a go ahead.

Elaine: I know I did you bad and no matter how I try to justify it, it doesn't change the fact that I hurt you still. I'm sorry Alex I never meant to treat you like a bandage, I shouldn't have it was wrong of me. You found me when I was in a very bad space, I was insecure, hurt beyond repair and I felt ugly but when ever I was with you a part of me healed, you made me feel good about myself. I never told you why Billie and I broke up in the first place, we broke up because she cheated on me with a girl who's far prettier than me. So whenever you showered me with compliments it slowly rebuilt my self esteem. What I'm saying is I'm sorry for making you heal wounds you didn't make, I'm sorry Alex I really am. I just hope someday you find it in your heart to forgive me.

I then got off the sit and headed for the door, that's when Alex grabbed my hand. I turned to look at her and she pulled me back and put me on top of her desk. She then lifted my chin and stared at me before she finally spoke

Alex: everytime I say you are beautiful I'm not lying. I'm sorry she made you feel that way.

She then kissed me, we kissed she is a great kisser but I wasn't really feeling it. I was wearing a dress so she tries to slide her hand in my dress but I grab it.

Elaine: I can't do this

She continues kissing my neck

Alex: why not?

I push her away and she looks at me with eyes full of lust.

Elaine: (almost inaudible) because I love her, I'm sorry but I can't help it Alex. I'm really sorry

Alex: but I can treat you better than her

Elaine: I'm sorry Alex I can't I really can't, my heart belongs to her

Alex: please give me a chance

Elaine: Alex...

She sheds a tear and I do too, I wipe her tear away before kissing her forehead and walking out. I still had tears when I walked out and I bumped into Star.

Star: are you okay dear?

Elaine: yeah yeah I'm fine

I then quickly rushed out, got in my car and cried. What have I done? Alex is so good to me but I still chose Billie over her. Fuck love, this shit is toxic.
