Elaine's POV

Billie has been doing shows none stop and Skylar had her cast removed a few days ago. Today I was doing a interview with a small magazine. I don't really like doing interviews but somehow I agreed to this one. Billie was accompanying me to the interview and we left Skylar in the hotel with Hannah.  We get to the set and they welcome us with warm hands. They show me my preparation room. I had my own glam team that I took everywhere because I wanted everything done to perfection and they got me. I was a minimalist so they also understand that. I was doing my make up and Billie was busy on her phone with Skylar.

Billie: I'll get you one when mommie and I come back okay?

Skylar: I also want a pink bicycle

Billie: (chuckle) okay princess

Their call end then she plays a game on her phone

Elaine: babe can you please check my emails for me I haven't checked them in a while

She had my phone so she just punches in my passcode and goes to my emails. She reads them to me, then the interview starts. Billie stands in the far corner of the room and the interview starts, it starts of nicely then it takes a turn.

Interviewer: so will you ever tell your daughter about the rape incident?

I smile to hide the discomfort because I was confused as the question was out of context.

Elaine: yes I will, I want to be the one she finds out from because people may twist the truth. So yeah as soon as she's old enough to comprehend it then I will

Interviewer: so he's the one who took your virginity?

I turn to look at Billie and she also looked perplexed by the question as I was. I could see the anger mixed with confusion in her face, so I just smile at her signalling for her to calm down.

Elaine: not really

Interviewer: so is your and Billie's sex life still the same? I mean the guy dirtied you plus your size got y'know?

I have never felt this embarrassed in my whole life, I choke on my saliva. Billie say something to the guy next to her then stormed over to me.

Billie: this interview is over, babe let's go

She dragged me outside and we got in the car. When we got in the limo she looked at me.

Billie: are you okay?

I just smile and nod at her, then I lean on her. No I was lying I wasn't fine, in fact I felt like crying. The ride back to the hotel was quiet, when we got there we found Skylar already asleep, so I went to go freshen up. I got in the shower and her words kept ringing in my head "he dirtied you". I was now crying  and my body was red, from all the scrubbing.

Billie's POV

When we got back from the interview Elaine went to freshen up. I knew she wasn't okay but I needed to give her space, but I was getting worried now because the shower has been running for over an hour. I went to the bathroom and it was locked so I knocked.

Billie: baby open up

The shower stops running and she sniffles, then opens the door and I walk in. She had a towel wrapped her I could tell that she had been crying and her skin was red, I think she had been scrubbing herself.

Billie: you've been in here for over an hour

She was avoiding eye contact with me

Elaine: I lost track of time

I look at her and she pretends to be busy. I close the door and lean on it. I stand there while she pretends to be busy, I guess she got tired of acting busy she sat on the toilet seat and broke down. Seeing my wife like that killed me so I went in and hugged her and she held on to me even tighter and sobbed in my arms.

Can we please treat rape survivors like warriors they are because it's an emotional battle as much as it is a physical one. I know some of my content is provoking but this is my way of raising awareness about everyday issues that people go through❤️hope y'all are well.
