65: beautiful lady

Elaine's POV

I woke up and went to jog as usual then went back to my apartment. When I get there I find Zara already preparing breakfast.

Zara: hi

Elaine: hi

We both talk at the same time do she decides to let me talk first.

Elaine: Uhm I'm sorry for snapping at you like that. I shouldn't have, it's just that everything is so confused to me and I know that y'all are tryna get me and Billie together again. Zara I know that y'all think we're suitable for each other but I beg to differ.

Zara: I'm also sorry for putting you in such a position. I should've consulted you first about Billie. It's just that it's hard to believe that y'all are over just like that. Just a few weeks ago you were all lovey dovey and cute now it's just....let me just say it's weird to see you like that. You've loved her for as long as I can remember.

Elaine: yeah right? It's funny how the universe works one minute you're blindly in love with someone the next they hurt you

Zara: I love you okay?

Elaine: I love you too, now what are you making there?

Zara: I'm making us omelettes

Elaine: yummy let me go take a bath then I'mma eat your delicious breakfast

Zara: okay

I went to take a shower then got dressed in a black figure hugging dress and stiletto's and went down.

Zara: you look good

Elaine: thank you

She gave me my plate and it looked good, really good.

Elaine: you're getting good at this

Zara: it's your influence

I just giggles and the awkward silence followed, I know Zara wanted to ask something.

Elaine: spill it out

Zara: so are you really gonna go on a date with Alex, even after Billie confessed her love for you?

Elaine: (nonchalantly) yeah why not?

Zara: no nothing I just wanted to know

Elaine: sure

Zara: Elaine...

Elaine: yeah?

Zara: do you still love Billie?

I almost chocked on my food, I just push the plate away and kiss her cheek then say good bye.

Elaine: I gotta go now

Zara: Elaine...

Elaine: Zara I'm gonna be late

Zara: but....

I quickly got out and drove to work. Gosh Zara is such a handful, to be honest with you I also don't know if I'm fully over Billie but I'm certain that she wants me back and she'll do everything she can you get me back. When I got to work I did what I was supposed to. Zara was calling none stop and I was ignoring her. It was now lunch and Alex was coming over.

Alex: knock knock

Elaine: hey

Alex: beautiful flowers for a beautiful lady

Elaine: (blush) I swear one would think they're in a botanical garden if they came in here,look all these flowers you got me.

I had flowers all over my office some were from Alex and some from Billie. Don't look at me like that, there's no way I'm gonna throw flowers away.

Alex: (chuckle) how are you?

Elaine: I'm good you?

Alex: I'm great...I brought you lunch

Elaine: what did you get me?

Alex: I brought you chicken breast and a Greek salad

Elaine: thank you

Alex: (chuckle) you and food

Elaine: what? food is life

We went on talking about anything really, then she brought up the date.

Alex: so what are you doing Saturday?

Elaine: nothing just hanging out with my friends

Alex: so...how about we have our date then?

Elaine: sure I'd love to

Alex: I gotta leave now

Elaine: let me walk you out

I get up from my sit and go around, well I'm kinda clumsy so I almost knock down one of my million flower vase.

Elaine: oops, gosh I'm clumsy

I turn around and I bump into Alex, we were now inches apart. We stood like that for a minute then she came closer to me and when we were about to kiss the door opened.

Angie: Elaine lunch...oh sorry to disturb you

Alex: no it's okay I was leaving

She kisses my cheek then walks out. Angie gives me a look.

Elaine: what?

Angie: didn't I tell you that she likes you?

Elaine: (blush) I guess you kinda did

Angie: I know these things

Elaine: (giggle) let's get back to work

We work for the last few hours then I go home, which I dreaded because I knew Zara will be on my case but I know just the way to shut her up.

Elaine: I'm home

Zara: how was your day?

Elaine: it was interesting

Zara: what you mean?

Elaine: Alex and I almost kissed

Zara: really?

Elaine: yeah

Zara: but what stopped you?

Elaine: Angie walked in

Zara: (bust in laughter) wow

Elaine: I know right...but we're still going on a date Sunday

Zara: I can't wait for this, let's pick out an outfit for you

Elaine: gosh it's still Thursday

Zara: Elaine! Early bird catches the worm

Elaine: I assume Alex is the worm?

Zara: (giggle) let's go

-I've been publishing a lot lately because my country is on some typa lockdown, schools are closed and stuff so I figured why not posted as many chapters as I can so that when schools resume and I don't post that much anymore y'all have some to read🥰 thank y'all for reading this means a lot to me❤️
