58: bad girls

Elaine's POV

It was morning already and I was dreading going to work, but I'm no coward so to work is where I'm going. I notice that I have over a hundred calls but I just ignore them, I kind of overslept so I won't jog today, I go to the bathroom to freshen up and wow I look like a mess. You could tell I cried myself to sleep as I had red puffy. Nonetheless I get ready for work and grab a granola bar then off I go. When I get to work I feel people staring at me. I just flash a faint smile and walk to my office. I get ready for my shift as soon as I was done I get a knock on my door.

Elaine: come in

Angie: hi dear how are you?

Elaine: (slfaint smile) I'll be fine

Angie: I saw the article I'm so sorry for that

Elaine: it's okay there's nothing I can do about it

Angie: poor child, I'm sorry

She comes to hug me, I hug her back and being in her arms feel like my mom's.

Elaine: thank you Angie

Angie: it's okay dear, should I get you something?

Elaine: no I'm fine let's just get to work.

I start with my shift and some patients were giving me awkward looks and stuff but one thing about me is that I'm professional so I won't let that get in my way of doing my job.

Billie's POV

I spent the night at Fin's, I wake up and do my morning routine then head downstairs. When I get downstairs I find Claudia making breakfast and Fin was helping her.

Billie: it smells good in here

Fin: morning

Claudia: how did you sleep?

Billie: like a baby

Yes I've been sleeping like a baby lately, I guess knowing that Elaine misses me too did the trick. They start giving each other weird looks.

Billie: sup?

Claudia: uhm, Fin tell her

Billie: guys what's up?

Fin: Uhm did you see the article they wrote?

Billie: article about?

Claudia: about Elaine?

Billie: what did they say about her?

Fin: I sent it to you

I take my phone out and I notice that I have thousands of missed calls and messages. I open the message sent by Fin and I read the article. The first thing I noticed is that she looked beautiful but who was she with? I go on to read the article and I feel so disgusted how can people write about something they don't know. I turn to look at Claudia.

Billie: who is she with?

Claudia: Alex

Billie: are they dating?

Claudia: no I don't think so, at least that's what Elaine said

Hearing that they weren't dating brought me peace. Yeah I know it's twisted but I don't think I'll be able to stand seeing her being with someone else besides me.

Billie: Uhm where are my car keys?

Fin: where are you going?

Billie: to Elaine
