It will be okay

2 months later

Jen left early to film a St Jude commercial. She's been feeling very emotional leading up to this as it's her first day of work in a week, after recently losing their eldest dog Norman. He was a big part of her life and it's been extremely tough for Jen to deal with. It's also been a year since her mothers death.

When Jen arrived at the set there was a bunch of flowers on her dressing table.

'Always thinking of you. I'm so proud. I love you x'

She smiles to herself with tears in her eyes and holds the card tight. Justin has been nothing but supportive. He's constantly telling her how much he loves her and letting her grieve in her own time. She sends him a text before leaving to film.

'I love you so much xo'

That evening Jen walked into the house just as Justin was serving up a candlelit dinner.

"Wow, what's all this?" Justin turns to see Jen entering the kitchen. They meet in the middle and kiss.

"I wanted to surprise you. You've had a tough couple weeks and you deserve to be treated." he leans out of the hug with his arms still around her waist.

"What did I do to deserve you" she says whilst wiping tears from her eyes.

"Don't cry baby, I want you to take the weight off your shoulders and relax tonight. You haven't stopped working since before Wanderlust and with everything going on lately, you need to take a moment"

"I love you so much you know."

"I love you more" he kisses her head.

Over dinner they talk about the commercial Jen shot. Justin listens intently.

"It was so tough. I honestly don't know how they cope with such illnesses, let alone their parents. She was so sweet Justin. 5 years old and her whole life turned upside down with cancer. I gave her a hamper full of toys and told her mother I'm paying for her treatment. I couldn't walk away without giving her anything."

Justin stares across the table at her lovingly. "You are so amazing you know."

Jen returns the smile. "It just puts everything into perspective. She doesn't deserve that to happen to her. She's a beautiful little girl. I had to do something" she starts crying again. "I'm sorry honey, I'm so emotional lately. It's been a draining couple of weeks."

"Stop apologising for being compassionate" Justin gets up and walks over to give her a hug from behind, wrapping his arms tightly around her shoulders and kissing her head.

"Go take a bath. I'll clean up and we'll have an early night" she smiles at him tenderly as she walks off.

After getting out the bath, Jen wraps herself up in her robe and walks over to her dresser to start putting her moisturiser on.

Her phone rings. She props herself on the bed leaning up the headboard.

"Hello Court"

"Hey Jen, how you doing?"

"I'm okay" she says quietly. "as well as can be anyway."

"Aww sweetie, I can tell you're not yourself. You are allowed to grieve you know. Norman was your little boy for nearly all your life."

"I know. I knew it would happen soon but it was still unexpected. And I certainly didn't expect to be this emotional" she sniffles before continuing "I filmed a St Judes commercial today and the poor family had to deal with me crying my eyes out every few minutes."
