A month later

The last few weeks had been quite easy for Jen to hide her news. She was only working on one project that she was directing, so she hadn't really needed to be on set in anything other than baggy clothes.

Since telling Justin about her past, they had become incredibly close. He was always checking up on her. Asking how she was feeling, mentally and physically. They were stronger than they ever thought they could be. They both felt so lucky to be having a baby and were being extra careful with anything that could jeopardise that.

Jen had been out with the girls a few times, and they'd been to her house. They often questioned why she wasn't drinking or up to doing as much as she normally would, however she always had an excuse ready. She knew they would have their suspicions but they respected her enough to let her be.

Today they were hosting a BBQ and party for 4th July. Court had been helping Jen decorate the house all morning whilst Justin was finishing some work.

"So come on, now we're alone. What's going on with you?" Court asked bluntly, staring at Jen as they took a break from decorating the garden.

"Nothing. I'm fine. I've been busy directing that movie and sorting the house out" she replied nonchalant.

"Alright, fine" she paused, looking at Jen "I just want you to know, you can talk to me. I'm always here."

Jen knew Court could sense something was up and she had been desperate to tell her but her and Justin had promised to keep it a secret till the party. The look Court was giving her was making her doubt herself.

"Oh whatever" Jen huffed and sat on the couch, staring at the floor then back at Court.

"I've wanted to tell you sweetie, I swear. I just..."

Court sat down next to Jen and put her hand on her knee as though understanding.

"I've been so scared. And I wanted to tell you. More than anyone but I couldn't. I promised Justin."

Court had a feeling where this was going. She looked at Jen reassuring her.

"It's okay Jen, you don't need to." She rubbed her knee and Jen could tell Court knew what she meant.

"I'm pregnant" there she said it, quickly, awaiting the response.

Court's face crinkled up, smiling from ear to ear. She hugged Jen immediately.

"Oh my gosh, I'm SO happy for you darling! You deserve this more than anyone."

She cared so much about her and understood her reasons for keeping quiet. Jen respected her and started crying in her arms.

"Thank you honey. I'm... We're both so happy."

"How far along are you?" Court asked, knowing Jen would be petrified.

"17 weeks, 3 days. We've had a few scans and so far so good."

"Oh my god! I knew you were hiding something!" Court grabbed Jens hand, both smiling from ear to ear.

Jen turned serious for a moment

"I told him everything Court. I had too. After our first scan.. I.. he deserved to know why I was acting so weird. And you know what, it was the best thing I could have done. That man has been nothing but wonderful to me and our baby. I'm so blessed" Jen tears up.

"He adores you Jen. You can see it. Everything he does.. he's besotted with you. I'm so happy and proud of you" Court began to cry too.

"I'll tell you everything later sweetie but right now, we need to finish this. We're planning on doing a gender reveal later. We don't even know ourselves. It's in that piñata over there." Jen turns to see it hanging in the garden, wondering what will be.
