A few days later

Jen and Rosie were adjusting to their time alone. Jen had been working on The Morning Show during the days and relishing in time with her daughter of an evening. She'd had help from her friends and their parents but was missing Justin's company.

They had just finished dinner and curled up on the sofa watching tv.

Rosie was lying on Jen's chest drinking her bottle and clutching her teddy. These were the moments Jen felt the most bliss.

They were waiting for Justin to call. He always called before he went to bed, due to the time difference it was always around Rosie's dinner time.

"Hi honey" Jen beamed as she answered the call "Look baby, it's daddy" Jen held the phone in front of Rosie.

"Hi girls, hi princess" he waved to Rosie.

"Daddy" she pointed at the phone and Justin smiled.

"Have you had a good day?" Jen asked.

"Yeah, it was a later finish tonight, sorry for calling after we said"

"That's okay honey. We were waiting patiently. How's it going?"

"It's coming together. We're having a good time" they smiled. "Um.. how come you've called off shooting the rest of the week?" he asked confused.

"I..I um.. it's been a long, tiring week. I feel like I've hardly been with her" she stroked Rosie's hair and kissed her head "It's getting quite intense filming and I was talking with Mimi and she suggested I take a few days to spend with Rosie."

"You sure you're okay?" Justin asked, hoping she wasn't trying to pretend she was fine just cause he wasn't there.

"Yeah I'm good honey. I just want to make the most of spending some time with her while it's just the two of us" she reassured him.

"As long as you're okay" he smiled softly.

"I am" she smiled in return.

"Is my angel being good?" he motioned to Rosie. She hadn't quite figured out facetime and babbled to herself.

"I miss you sweetheart" he said quietly.

"Dolly" Rosie jumped off Jen's lap and chased Dolly around. Jen could see the hurt in Justin's eyes. She knew he was missing them but Rosie couldn't quite understand facetime or why her dad was on the phone.

"She misses you too honey" Jen answered for her trying to make him feel better. She knew if it were the other way round, she would be struggling without her daughter.

He smiled weakly in return.

Jen tried cheering him up talking about their days. As they were finishing the call Jen tried to get Rosie to give Justin a little more attention.

"Baby come and say bye to daddy" she waved her back over to the couch. Rosie came running to Jen, standing in-between her legs staring at the phone.

"Bye sweetie, daddy loves you lots" he spoke softly.

"Daddy" his face lit up at the slight interaction. He blew her a kiss and waved.

"We love you honey. Talk to you tomorrow" Jen added.

"I love you. Bye girls" he blew them a final kiss and ended the call.

2am, Jen heard the floorboards creaking. As she was about to get up, she saw Rosie rubbing her eyes in the doorway.

"Want daddy" she mumbled in her sleepy voice.

"Daddy's not here baby girl.. How did you get out your crib?" she spoke quietly, as Rosie walked over to the bed.

"No daddy" Rosie asked more of a question. Jen lifted her up onto the bed and Rosie curled up to her side.

"Daddy's working honey. He'll be back soon" Rosie glided her fingers over Jen's face sweetly and Jen kissed them when they reached her lips.

"Me stay mommy"

"Yes baby, you can stay with me tonight" Jen pulled her closer and kissed her head, happy to share the bed with her daughter.

Rosie kept talking away to Jen until she finally fell asleep. Jen grabbed her phone off the side and took a selfie of them together. She sent it to Justin knowing it would make him smile.

'Look who was calling for daddy and ended up sleeping here x'

A while later he replied '<3 my beautiful girls x'

A few days later Court was on the phone to Jen.

"Reese said you'd taken a few days off. Is everything okay?"

"Yeah everything's fine honey. I wanted to have a few days with Rosie. We've cuddled, painted, played... it's been wonderful Court. I really feel like we've bonded even more than I thought we could."

"Sounds lovely" Court knew how important times like that were "The girls are coming round later if you want to join us"

"Yeah, I did see that in the group chat. I think I'm gonna stay here"

"Are you sure?" Court didn't want Jen to distance herself from them.

"Yeah.. we're fine Court. I'm just really enjoying this time to ourselves, we're making very special memories together" Jen answered softly.

"Okay.. just know we're here if you need us"

"I know honey.. I'll pop round in a few days"

"No rush Jen. I understand" Court answered honestly.

"Thanks Court" Jen was grateful her friends never judged her for wanting to spend time with her family. She adored her girls but the alone time with Rosie was giving her so much joy, she wanted to embrace it as much as she could.

She finished the call and turned to see Rosie still painting at her little craft table. She walked over to her and stroked her hair lovingly.

"Mommy.. dat dolly" she pointed to a big splodge of paint on the paper.

"That's lovely baby. Shall we paint a picture for daddy?"

Jen painted Rosie's hand with pink paint, Rosie loved it, giggling banging her hands over the paper. Jen did the same to hers making two hand prints either side of Rosie's. She also drew a paw print and love heart, captioning it 'Daddy, Mommy, Rosie and Dolly.. The Theroux's'

"Daddy's going to love this sweetie" Jen beamed at Rosie who has started another painting.

"An dis" she pointed at her new picture.

"He's going to love all of them honey" She reached her arm over, rubbing her back. She was so lucky to have such a beautiful girl.
