Birthday Girl

A few months later

"Happy birthday baby girl" Jen beamed as Rosie jumped on their bed.

"I not a baby mommy" she teased, being enveloped in Jen's arms.

"You'll always be mommy's baby" she kissed her head multiple times.

"And daddys" Rosie questioned looking from Jen to Justin.

Justin pulled her into his lap and kissed her too "You're daddys little princess aren't you" he tickled her.

"Nooo help mommy" Jen started tickling her too, loving the sound of her families giggles.

Rosie managed to escape and jumped up and down in the middle of the bed

"I having a party"

"You are.. and all your friends are coming and grandma and grandpa..." Justin replied.

"Everyone!" she screamed, excited, bouncing back down on Jen's lap.

"Everyone's coming. You're a very lucky girl sweetie" Jen kissed her again.

"I think this is the last year before all she's interested in is presents" Justin joked.

"Our baby's growing up" Jen said softly, resting her head on Rosie's.

Justin reached over and stroked Jen's arm knowing she always found occasions with their daughter emotional "and what a beautiful, smart little girl she's becoming."

"She certainly is" they smiled at each other "I'm so proud of us.. two years and we've done okay"

"We have. We've smashed it babe" he joked.

After spending the morning watching their daughter open her presents, eating junk food and watching tv, people had started arriving for the party.

Jen and Justin had organised a big inflatable castle for in the backyard.

"Did Justin hire that for the kids or for him?" Phyllis said as her and Jen watched the guys bouncing the kids.

"I know.. as soon as it arrived he was on it. I don't think Rosie understood what it was"

"Kids parties are always more entertaining for the dads" she joked.

"You've done a wonderful job Jenny.. everything looks great" her dad walked over to greet them on the decking.

"Thanks dad. Hey Sherry" she hugged them both.

"Hi darling.. where's the birthday girl"

"She's on the castle.. I think Jason and Justin are seeing who can bounce them the highest" they laughed at the kids sat on the castle with Jason and Justin bouncing them as high as they could.

"Rosie!" Jen shouted down to get her attention.

"It's okay darling.. we'll go to them.. she's having fun" they smiled as they went to greet their grandaughter.

"Hey Jen"

"Hey guys" she turned to greet Justin's friends Carlos and Anna.

"Sorry we're late.. this one decided to have a little tantrum in the car" Anna motioned to the bundle in her arms.

"Aw it's fine... hi sweetie" Jen stroked their daughter June's head.

"Here.. we got Rosie a little something" Anna motioned to Carlos to hand them a box on the floor between them.

"That's so sweet, thank you"
