3 weeks later

Jen had been taking great care of Justin. She'd had some help with Rosie from her friends and family but other than that she was pleased with how well they'd been handling the situation.

Justin was getting better every day. Still unable to walk unaided but his face had started to heal and regular checks with the doctor showed his breathing was back to normal. He had 3 more weeks on crutches and hopefully the cast would be able to come off.

"I don't know how you've coped you know babe. You've been the best nurse ever" Justin watched from the couch as Jen was tidying away Rosie's toys.

"Not gonna lie honey.. I was worried we wouldn't manage it. But I think we're getting by just fine" she turned to face him, smiling.

"Leave that.. come here" he reached his arms out to her.

She dropped the toys on the side and joined him on the couch.

He held her close to his side and kissed her head.

"It's strangely quiet without them here" Jen said mentioning the absence of Rosie and Dolly.

"I know. I almost forgot how empty the house is without them"

"Me too. Although your mom and dad probably disagree" they chuckled and Jen stroked his leg and chest.

"In a weird way.. your accident has been a blessing. Since Cabo we've been able to spend every day together. I've been able to take care of you for a change. We've had no distractions. And I know Rosie has loved looking after you" they laughed remembering Rosie playing with her toy medical kit.

"Yeah I guess it was. I'm grateful for my two little helpers. I think we know what she'll be when she's older" they chuckle again and embrace in a comfortable silence.

"It'll be different when I'm filming next week.." Jen spoke up.

"Yeah.. we'll figure it out though. This is your big break. You've been waiting so long to film this. You're ready" Justin tried to reassure her, knowing she doesn't want to leave and is nervous to get back on set.

She smiled thanking him "I feel guilty leaving you like this though"

"Don't be. You need to get back to work and you're gonna be awesome" he kissed her.

"I'm gonna miss you guys in the day" she spoke truthfully.

"We'll miss you too but we'll figure out a way of visiting.. I'll get my mom to drive us or Joel"

"Thank you honey" they embraced again, making most of their quiet time.

"Dada!" Rosie came running in, shouting.

Jen and Justin were startled. At some point they'd fell asleep on the couch.

"Hi princess" Justin welcomed her, jumping into his arms.

She mumbled a few words obviously about what she'd been up too and the adults laughed.

Phyllis joined them on the opposite couch.

"She's been painting with grandpa in the spare room. We had to give her a bath before coming home though"

"Aww, have you been helping baby" Jen asked as Rosie hopped into her lap.

"Mama.. Gra..m..a" she kept babbling whilst Jen watched sweetly.

"Has she been good?" Justin asked.

"Good as gold. Kept us running around, especially with Dolly but she's been fine"

"Thanks for taking them mom. We just needed a few hours"

"It's fine. We love having her. Are you sure you don't need us tomorrow?"

"No it's okay. My dad and Sherry are coming for dinner so she can harass them" Jen jumped in.

They watched Rosie chase Dolly around the room with different toys.

"Oh by the way, your bike has been delivered. It's outside."

Jen looked from Phyllis to Justin confused "Bike?"

"Um yeah.." Justin pondered.

"Sorry. I'll get off but if you need us you now where we are" they said their goodbyes and Jen got back to questioning Justin.

"I didn't want to bother you with it.. I asked Jason to help get the bike fixed" he started.

"Why? We could have got you a new one?"

"You bought it for me Jen. I wanted to keep it.. it's special to me. I didn't want you to think I didn't care about it"

"Nonsense honey. I didn't care about the bike, I just wanted you to be okay. I could have sorted that for you" she said, joining him on the couch.

"You're already going above and beyond for us all babe. It's okay. I won't be going out on it for a while anyway but I wanted to get it fixed. It's sentimental. Reminds me of my first birthday with you" he stroked her thigh sweetly, rubbing his other hand over her engagement ring.

"That's really sweet honey. I love you" she kissed him.

"I love you too. I'm very grateful for you" they smiled sweetly and continued watching Rosie play.

Justin was dragging himself back from the bathroom when he spotted Jen running around on the decking as Rosie was trying to grab her legs, running after her.

He stopped and watched them, smiling softly. He saw Rosie tug at Jens legs and she playfully lifted her up in the air. The laughter from both of them melted his heart. Jen sat Rosie on the edge of the decking fence, holding her tightly as they both looked out at the sunset.

Justin took the opportunity to capture a beautiful candid moment.

He walked up behind them hearing Rosie copying Jen with different words of things she was pointing at.

He wrapped his arm around both of them.

"Hey.. you're getting better at walking around on those things" Jen tilted her face to him.

"Couldn't miss out on this" he smiled cutely, stroking Rosie's hair.

"Her speech is getting much clearer now" Jen looked down at Rosie proudly.

"She's got a great teacher" he watched them lovingly as Rosie was waving at nothing in particular but shouting different things.

"You won't be saying that when she's nagging you like I do" Jen answered.

"I can't wait for that.. I'm already outnumbered with you both" they giggled.

"Do you want pizza tonight honey?" Jen lifted her head off Justin's shoulder.

"Sounds lovely"

"I'll put her pyjamas on and we can cosy up with a movie" she lifted Rosie down and turned to leave watching her run back into the house.

Justin turned, seeing his girls chase each other towards the stairs. He felt so in love and happy.

He got his phone out and posted the photo from before:

'As you may of have heard, I injured my ankle. Recovery is going well thanks to these guardian angels. So thankful for my girls x'
