Couple time

2 weeks later

Jen had started to feel a lot more like herself since stopping breast-feeding. Visiting the doctor gave her the confidence that she didn't need to put so much pressure on herself. She'd started to be a bit more laid back and taking each day as it came. Justin had noticed a big difference in her too and was glad she was starting to relax.

Today was Justin's last day shooting The Leftovers. 

Jen arrived at his trailer.

"Are you ready to see daddy angel?" she gushed over Rosie, rocking her in her arms around his trailer.

Shortly after, the door opened and in walked Justin.

"Wh..what are you guys doing here?" He asks, shocked to see his girls.

"We thought we'd surprise you.. right Rosie?" she walks over to him balancing Rosie on her hip and kisses him.

"Aw that's lovely. Hi sweetie" he kisses Rosie too.

"She's been a very good girl. She slept all night, we had breakfast and she had a little nap... and she's woke up in a great mood" Jen informs him, smiling.

"Oh you're a good girl aren't you" he coos taking her from Jen and sitting on his couch.

"How's it going honey?" Jen asks, watching him beam over his little girl.

"Only a few more scenes left. I can't believe it's nearly over... But I'm excited to get home to my girls" he smiles at her.

"We can't wait to have you home more" she walks over sitting next to them.

"I'm gonna take over the night feeds. You deserve a break. You've spent every night alone with her for a few weeks now"

"I'll be glad to have you there with me honey" she answers honestly "I never acknowledged that you must be exhausted too. You've been on night shoots and early starts all this time and there I was complaining about being tired. You deserve a break too Justin."

"That's okay babe. Looking after her is a lot harder than standing in front of a camera"

"I've booked us a meal at our favourite restaurant tonight" Jen says after a while.

"Are you sure? I thought you didn't want to be seen out"

"I don't but we need a night out. I've neglected you and I want to enjoy a night off together"

"You don't need to prove anything to me babe" he wraps his arm around her.

"I know.. I want to treat you honey" she reassures him she's okay with it and he accepts.

"Thank you gorgeous."

After a short time playing with Rosie, Justin's co star Amy knocks on the door.

"Hey I saw your car and thought I'd come say hi" she says as Justin lets her in.

"Hi honey, how are you?" Jen answers.

"Good.. Oh aren't you beautiful. You look just like your mommy" Amy says, admiring Rosie's bright blue eyes and golden hair.

"I know, she's the double of Jen" Justin adds, earning a sweet smile from Jen.

"How's everything with you?" Jen asks as the women catch up.

"I'll take her a walk around the set whilst you ladies gossip" Justin interrupts.

"Okay honey. Watch out for the paps outside" Jen answers, remembering the shouting over the gates when she arrived.

"I've got you, haven't I angel" Justin swoons over Rosie, holding her in the air.

"He's obsessed with her you know. You guys are all he ever talks about" Amy tells Jen.

"Isn't he wonderful" Jen smiles watching him leave, kissing his daughter and holding her tight.

Later in the evening, Jen and Justin are enjoying their first night out in a while.

"Thanks for organising this babe. It's been lovely to have some couple time" he reaches across the table for her hand.

"I know. It's our first time out since getting engaged. We needed to remind ourselves what pre-baby fun was" they chuckle.

"Once a week, I'm taking you out" Justin says.

"That's fine by me honey."

As they leave the restaurant a large group of paps gathered outside.

"Jen hows the baby?"

"Justin are you breaking up?"

"When's the wedding?"

Justin holds Jen with his arm tightly around her shoulders. She covers her face with her hand as they make their way past.

"I can't see anything Justin" Jen says into Justin's ear.

"I've got you babe, it's alright" he pulls her tighter and guides them closer to the car.

"Guys come on, back off a little" Justin shouts calmly to the paps.

Unable to see anything other than flashing lights, they finally make it too the car.

"I guess I should have asked Joel to drive us" Jen says as they get in.

"It's alright babe, I'll never let them get to you" Justin reassures her, putting his hand on her leg and starting to drive off.

"They're so much worse since Rosie. It's intense"

"I know. They're everywhere lately" Justin answers.

"Anyway, forget them. I had a lovely time honey" Jen changes the subject.

"Me too Jen" he answers truthfully, turning to smile at her "and I can't wait to get you home" he smirks and Jen squeezes his hand on her leg, eager to get home and enjoy the rest of their child-free evening.
