The Return....

Chapter 3

Welcome to Chicago, Illinois we hope you enjoy your visit. It is now 4:30pm.

Since the service didn't start till 6:00pm she decided she wanted to check in to the hotel. She grabbed Leo and exited the plane, and headed to baggage claim. After collecting their luggage they found their car and headed to the hotel. By the time they got to the hotel it was 5:30pm, she didn't have time to shower and change so she slipped on a black dress and some flats. Not wanting to risk it she left Leo their with her agent, they had become close friends ever since he was born. Erin rinsed her face and gave Leo a kiss and told him she would see him later.

6:00pm

The priest: we are here this afternoon to lay our fallen brother Henry "Hank" Voight to rest.... we ask that you keep his daughter Erin Lindsay in your prayers.

The Unit walked up to the casket and lifted it onto their shoulders. No one noticed Erin sitting on the first pew, until the the priest walked up to her making her presence known to everyone. There was so many gasp 😦. They unit saw her for the first time in 8 years and no one knew how to react. They continued with the service hoping they would get a couple of minutes with her. After the casket was put into the hearse Erin got into her Car and followed along. When they arrived at the graveyard his casket was placed next to camille and Justins grave. The priest continued with the service and Erin walked up and laid a rose on the casket. The priest finished up and everyone started to disburse, Erin stayed a little longer. The unit stayed back just watching Erin at Hanks grave, no one knowing how to approach her so they all went together.

The team: Hey Lindsay.👀

Erin took a deep breath before turning around to finally face them.

Erin: He...

Erins phone rings.

Erin: Hello.
Nick: is Leo allergic to anything?
Erin:NO WHY!!
Nick: we was eating pizza and some cinnamon sticks.
Erin: shit I just forgot his doctor said he's allergic to cinnamon. Is he okay?

The team is standing around her looking confused 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️.

Nick:he started breaking out into hives, then having trouble breathing we're on our way to Chicago med now.
Erin: shit I'm on my way.
The team: is everything okay.
Erin: umm I need to go...

Erin turns around starts to run to he car.

Jay: great she's leaving again without saying anything.

Erin turns around and walks straight up to jay and slaps him straight across his face.

Erin: I have leave because my son was rushed to the hospital so go fuck yourself jay.

And with she turned around and sprinted to her car, she told her driver where to go. She just sat in the back of the car crying, because jay made it seems like she's always leaving.

Everyone is still standing there looking just as shocked.

Adam: did she really just slap you and leave.
Antonio: wait did she just say she had a son.
Hailey: are you okay jay.
Kim: I guess she wasn't ready to see us.
Kevin: That unfolded quickly, in going head to Molly's throw one back for Voight.
Adam: we'll join, right guys?
Antonio, Hailey, and Kim: yea sure.
Platt: I'll catch up with you at work. I gotta do something.

Erin arrived at med, she went to the emergency room looking for Maggie.

Erin: Maggie, a little boy just came in not to long ago, he had an allergic reaction.
Maggie: umm yea,do you know him?
Erin: yea, he's my son. Can you tell me where he's at?
Maggie: he's in room 4 Natalie and will are in there with him.
Erin: Thank you!

Erin jogs over to room 4 and opens the door. Leo lifts his head.

Leo: Mommy!
Erin: Hi, Baby how are you feeling.
Leo: Better, but my throat still hurts and I'm itchy.
Will: Umm Hi Erin😯, umm yea so his throat is gonna be sore for a few days, as well as the itching.
Erin: he's okay to fly though, right.
Will: I would wait a day or 2 just to make sure he's alright.
Erin: Shit, are you okay with staying the extra days.
Nick: yea that's fine, more time with Leo.
Erin: when can we leave?
Natalie: tomorrow morning, we want to keep him under observation, you know to make sure he's okay.
Erin: okay, are you hungry Leo?
Leo: hungry for ice cream😁.
Erin: 1 ice cream, what about you nick?
Nick: how about I get the ice cream Leo has really missed you. Do you want anything?
Thank you nick, and a scoop of strawberry ice cream.
Nick: okay I'll be back.
Leo: Thank you.
Will: we will be back to check on you.
Leo: okay, mommy can we do snuggles.
Erin: of course baby, scooch over make room for me.

Erin hopped in the bed and cuddled Leo, he asked her to tell him a story.

Erin: which story do you want?
Leo: can you tell me the one about how you met daddy?
Erin: haha.... yea! I was already late to work, so I had to run up the stairs and try to sneak by Sergeant Platt, but she caught me. She said "your late princess, you better hurry up you got a new partner". I put my hand on the scanner and buzzed myself upstairs. When I got up there Sergeant Hank was like your late kid. He turned and said this is you new partner Jay Halstead. I looked right at him and smiled, he had the most amazing green eyes that's why I love your eyes. They remind me so much of him.

Leo: do you miss daddy?
Erin: yea, I really do but I broke daddies heart when I left.
Leo: why did you leave him?
Erin: mommy got into some and my new boss asked me to come to New York for a fresh start. If I would have stayed mommy could not be a detective anymore.
Leo: but your a really good special agent mommy.
Erin: aww thank you munchkin❤️.
Nick: I'm back with ice cream 🍨. Here's your cookies and cream, and 1 strawberry 🍓.
Erin: Thank you.
Leo:Thank you nick.
Nick: your welcome.

While eating their ice cream, Erin noticed platt standing in the emergency room talking to Maggie.

Erin: hey Leo, I'll be right back mommy has to go talk to a friend.
Leo: okay, but hurry back. I want more snuggles 🥰.
Erin: okay😘.

Erin gets up walks to the emergency room, she sees platt so she walks up to her.

Erin: Trudy...
Platt: Erin.. I'm so sorry Er.
Erin: I'm over it, I was glad I could make it.
Platt: so how've you been?
Erin: I'm okay, but I know that's not what you want to ask me. What do you want to know?
Platt: you have a kid?
Erin: Ahh you heard that part... yes I do. Would you like to meet him?
Platt: if that's okay with you.
Erin: yea he's going to be happy to see you.

Erin continues talking to platt until they reach his room.

Erin: Hey Leo, I have a friend who wants to meet you.
Platt: Hi there.
Leo: Hello, mommy is this sergeant platt.
Erin: yes it is.
Leo: mommy told me so many stories about you. She said you use to help her when she was a kid.
Platt: I did, she was one of my favorites.
Leo: she's my favorite too.
Erin: your the sweetest.
Platt: how long are you here for?
Erin: Will said he can't leave for atleast 2 days, after that we're gone.
Platt: are you gonna see the team?
Erin: honestly, I'm not sure if it I want to.
Platt: I understand, they don't like the fact that you haven't called in 8 years.
Erin: There's a lot of things we don't like but it's life. I'm not sure if I can keep a leveled head with them.
Leo: mommy I'm getting sleepy, can you do snuggles with me.🥺
Erin: how can I say no to the adorable face and those eyes. Of course I will do snuggles. Hey nick, if you want you can head back to the hotel.
Nick: okay, I'll be back in the morning. Bye Leo, I hope you feel better.
Leo: bye nick, see ya in the morning. Mommy can you rub my back?
Erin: yes I can, I love you ❤️
Leo: I love you too❤️, goodnight mommy.
Erin: goodnight munchkin.
Platt: I can see your an amazing mother, I wish Al and Hank could see this.

Erin didn't want to tell her that her son had actually met both Al and Hank already.

Erin: yea, I wish they could've too.
Platt: well I'm going to get out of here, hopefully I see you again. Goodnight!

For the rest of the night Erin just cuddled Leo in her arms rubbing his back until he completely sleep. She soon drifted off to sleep after him.
