The Return....

Chapter 43

The last weekend of September had arrived, the team had made it to their week long team building trip. The team had finished all their paperwork the day before giving everyone enough time to pack and be ready. Erin told the team to make sure everyone was at the airport by 9am, but that went in one ear and out the other. They were fortunate that their flight didn't leave till 11 am so they had time.

This was both Jay and Erin's first time away from the kids. Natalie and Will volunteered to watch the kids while they were away for the week. They had no worries the Leo would have a great time, but Chloe on the other hand was still small. Erin promised herself that she wouldn't call every hour, but maybe every 2 hours.

It was now 9:45am and all of the team had finally made it to the airport, Kim and Adam of course being the last to arrive. Kim told Erin that Adam decided he wanted to wait till this morning to want to pack his things. Shaking her head, she told Adam not to pull any stunts while they were on vacation, or she would kick him down to patrol for a month. He quickly fixed himself up, and lead the way through the airport.

As they gradually moved through the O'Hare airport, the more passengers they would see. It was taking them a little longer than expected to get through the security check point. They were lucky enough to make it to their flight with 5 minutes to spare.

Erin: Are you ready to have fun this weekend?
Jay: Yea, I've never been to Universal Studios.
Erin: Is that all your looking forward to seeing?
Jay: Pretty much!
Erin:..
Jay: I'm kidding! I'm really looking forward to a week long vacation with you. I know we haven't had much time to ourselves, so let's hope we can have a lot of fun this week.
Erin: I think it will definitely be a great week, especially since I have gotten the all clear from my doctor.
Jay: Thank you commander for this team building trip.
Erin: You're such a dork!
Jay: Yea, but I'm your dork!
Erin: That you are.
Adam: Save all that romance for your hotel room!!
Jay: Oh we will! You better hope Kim give you romance in your room.
Kim: I heard that...
Jay: Sorry Kim!
Kevin: I think we could all benefit from everyone being quiet. This flight is 2 hours and 45 minutes long, and we don't want to here anything about y'all romance.
Antonio: Yea, what Kevin said!
Nadia: Well I'm looking for to getting a tan on the beach, and seeing the castle.
Mouse: I second that, I haven't been to the Magic Kingdom since I was like 10. This will definitely be more memorable since I'm with the most beautiful woman.
Nadia: That's why I love you.
Nick: Awww.... Look at our own mini Erin and Jay. They are growing up so fast.
Kevin: Very funny.

The next 2 and half hours went by pretty fast, before they knew it they were debarking their flight. After everyone exited the plane they headed towards the baggage claim. Everyone was able to get their bags except for Adam and Nick, their bag was put on another flight and they wouldn't be able to get them till tomorrow. Adam was pissed, Kim calmed him down before airport security stepped in. Nick on the other hand was very calm, the baggage claim attendant offered him a discount on their flight back home.

They finally made their way out of the airport and to the transportation side. There was a gentleman dressed in all black holding a sign saying IU TEAM.

Driver: Are you guys the IU Team?
Erin: Yes thats us.
Driver:  My name is Andy,I will be your driver for the duration of your trip.
Erin: I'm erin and this is my team. Jay, Adam, Kim,Nadia, Mouse, Kevin, Antonio and Nick.
Andy: It's a pleasure to meet everyone and how about we get this show on the road!

The guys helped Andy load their luggage in the car while the women got situated in the van. Erin opted not to sit in the front seat so she could sit next to jay. Nadia and mouse sat in the back because they are the smallest, Antonio and Nick sat in front of them. Kim and Adam sat on the second row, while Erin and Jay took the front row, and Kevin took the passenger seat. Everyone was now in the van, and headed to their resort hotel. Andy gave them some suggestions and ideas of places and different activities to try. He told the group that fright fest was currently happening, and all the theme parks hosted a great fest but universal Studios is really nice. They continued talking until they arrived at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, it came highly recommended and free since it was for the job.

Erin: Thank you Andy and we will see you tomorrow!
Andy: Here's my card, call me when you are ready to leave. See you all tomorrow!
Erin: Alrighty guys let's go check in and get our rooms.

After getting checked in and upgrading hers and Jay's room, she walked back over to the team and handed out the room keys. Nadia and mouse quickly grabbed their key, while Nick grabbed his key and left. Everyone else grabbed their keys and headed for the elevators, when the doors closed Kim pressed the number 9 and Erin pressed 11.

Kim: Why'd you click the suites only level?
Erin: because me and Jay's room is on that level.
Adam: So, we got a plain room, while you and lover boy got a suite?
Erin: Yup, I upgraded our room when I checked us in.
Adam: Oh someone's getting lucky this weekend!!
Jay: Could you have said that any louder?
Kevin: He definitely could've so take it and leave.
Erin: We can meet back in the lobby to head  out for dinner at 7:00pm. So please try to be on time!!

Everyone split up and went to their separate rooms to settle in. It didn't take long for Kim and Nadia to leave their rooms to go find Erin's. When they found the room, Kim knocked and Jay opened the door wearing swimming trunks and a tee shirt. He knew right away they were looking for Erin. She came walking from out the bathroom wearing a 2 piece bathing suit, with a cover up on.

Kim: We literally just checked in 30 minutes ago and your already heading to the pool.
Erin: Yea, it was calling our name, and we have a lot of time before dinner.
Jay: How about y'all come and join us?
Kim: Since you asked, we will meet you down there in 10 minutes.
Jay: Okay, and bring the guys too, I don't wanna be stuck in the middle of your girly conversation.
Nadia: Awww he doesn't wanna hear us talk about the other hot guys at the pool?
Erin: Leave my man alone, he knows I only wanna talk about him.
Jay: Thank you baby, and before we head down to the pool let's call the kids first.
Erin: Okay, We'll see y'all downstairs.
Kim+Nadia: Okay!

Jay FaceTimed Will, and the first thing they heard was Chloe crying. She wasn't too loud but it was very noticeable. Will said she had just woken up from a nap and Natalie was fixing her a bottle now. Once Natalie had the bottle fixed, and she started feeding Chloe she calmed down. Now Will was able to talk to both Erin and Jay.

Will: Okay, now I can talk to you.
Jay: How are the kids doing?
Will: Leo Is great, him and Owen are playing the game right now, and this little princess just woke up. She's been doing great all day!
Jay: That's great, and thanks for doing this for us!
Will: We're family, we gotta look out for each other. Also I love your kids, so I really don't mind.
Erin: Can we see Leo?
Will: LEO YOUR MOM AND DAD WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!!!
Leo: Mom and dad, Where are they?
Will: Here on the phone?
Jay: Hey Bud!
Erin: Hey Munchkin!
Leo: Hey dad, Hey mom! I miss you!
Jay: We miss you too bud, you having fun with uncle Will?
Leo: Yea, uncle Will is getting us pizza tonight.
Erin: Have fun munchkin, we'll call you back later before we go to sleep.
Leo: Okay, love you!
Erin: Love you too!
Jay: Love you bud!

Will showed them Chloe before getting off the phone. Jay grabbed 2 towels and they headed down stairs. As they walked to the pool Jay accidentally bumped into someone.

Stranger: Geez, watch where your going!
Jay: I'm so sorry!
Stranger: Yes you a......Jay...Jay Halstead..
Jay: Allie!
