Chapter 24

Jay: Leo, me and mom wanted to talk to you about the man you saw.
Leo: is he a bad guy?
Erin: Yea, he is!
Leo: What did he do?
Erin: He hurt me when I was younger. I don't want him to know who you are cause if he finds out that your my son he will try to hurt you too.
Leo: So if I see him i should run away and get help.
Jay: Yes, but we won't ever leave you alone. You'll always have either me, mom or anyone on the team with you.
Leo: Okay!
Jay: If you want you can go back down stairs by Trudy.
Leo: But what if he comes in?
Erin: If he does, tell Trudy you want to come back upstairs. He doesn't know who you are so That's good.
Leo: Umm.. He knows my name is Leo!
Erin: How?
Leo: When Trudy called me he heard her.
Erin: Shit!
Jay: Hey relax he only knows a part of his name. So we're still okay, Leo you can go downstairs now?
Leo: okay!

Leo went downstairs to join Trudy at her desk, while Jay tried to comfort Erin. This was a lot to take in at the moment, the case they're working and Charlie sniffing around their kid. Jay sat on the couch in Erin's office and he pulled Erin to come sit next to him. She leaned into his side and he just rubbed her back till she felt calm, and was ready to talk.

Erin: I'm scared!
Jay: Why?
Erin: If Charlie finds out who Leo is, it won't take him long to figure out I'm his mom. He won't stop and I can't have our son getting hurt.
Jay: if Charlie does find out, he has an entire district who will rain hell on him if he gets anywhere near our son. Leo has friend and family who will protect him.
Erin: I know Leo has a lot of people who would come to his defense. It's just I know the damages he caused in my life and I don't won't that for Leo, I want to protect him.
Jay: He has both of us in his corner now, so don't worry.
Erin: Thank you for this!
Jay: You don't have to Thank me.
Erin: I do, you always know how to reassure me, and give me the pep talk I need.
Jay: Thats cause i know you through and though, just like when the roles are reversed when I need the pep talk or reassurance you always deliver.
Erin: I guess we just really know each other really well! My better half!
Jay: Some might even say my soulmate!
Erin: I think I can agree with them. Come on let's get back to this case.

Jay and Erin went back to the bullpen to see if any new details had been discovered. Kim and nick had gotten a lot of information from the roommate.

Kim: Carlos roommate Xavier said lately Carlos had been acting really paranoid. He would get up at 6 am even though his classes didn't start till 10:30am.
Antonio: He could've going to the gym or the library.
Nick: Not possible, roommate said that he was preparing to graduate in may. He was basically finished with all his classes. 1 week ago is when the roommate started noticing bruises on Carlos. He said he would confront him about it, but Carlos always said nothing. Xavier said one day he did follow Carlos and he got into and expensive looking car, possibly a Mercedes.
Erin: Great job guys! Kevin, Adam did the parents say anything?
Kevin: His mom also said he was acting strange recently, sometimes he would spend the night at their house and he would get calls during the middle of the night and just leave.
Adam: His dad said he once caught his son arguing with someone in a Mercedes, and when he attempted to walk to the car it sped off. He did write down the partial plate. I already ran it, car was stolen 2 months ago. So I'm thinking by now the license plate have been switched out.
Erin: Great job guys! Nadia did you get anything?
Nadia: only a description, one of the student say they saw them arguing when he was walking to class. The man was tall possibly between 6'0-6'3, skinny build and black long hair.
Erin: Great job!
Jay: forensics just came back for the bags found in the back pack, pure heroin.
Erin: Okay, so we have a college student running drugs, and my guess is that he wanted out and my told his dealer and he killed him. We gotta get his phone records and the footage from the university.
Adam: His mom said she would provide them.
Antonio: we're getting a warrant for the school.
Erin: Great! We can't do anymore till we get the records and footage, so I'm calling it a day. Be back here by 10am.
Adam: Got it boss!
Kevin: Aight guys I'm out!
Adam: anyone down for Molly's.
Kim: sure!
Nick: Sure!
Nadia: I'm in!
Antonio: I'll be there!
Mouse: Sure why not!
Adam: Jay Erin?
Erin: Sorry Guys, but I kinda wanna spend my night with Leo.
Jay: yea sorry guys!
Erin: Jay you can go, we'll be fine. Go hang out with the team.
Jay: You sure?
Erin: Yes, I'm sure now go drink enough for both of us.
Jay: My liver is not that strong😂
Erin:🙄😂😂 whatever.
Jay: what are you and Leo gonna do?
Erin: probably order pizza and cuddle on the couch.
Jay: That sounds more fun!
Erin: nope your going out with the team, I'll see you at home later, I love you ❤️!
Jay: 🥰 I love you too!

Erin grabbed Leo and left the district, and they headed to go get their pizza that she had ordered them. Then they went home and quickly showered and switched into their pajamas and ate some pizza.

Jay on the other hand preferred to go home with his girlfriend and son. He also couldn't resist a night out with the team either.

Adam: So Jay?
Jay: What do you want to ask Adam?
Adam: What's going on with you and Erin? Are you guys back together or not?
Jay: Yes, we are.
Kevin: I'm happy for you to, you finally found you way back to each other!
Jay: yes we did, I hate that it took 8 years but I wouldn't change any of it.
Nick: You do know she talked about you all the time in New York!
Jay: I didn't, I thought she hated me when she lived there.
Mouse: Hell no, Trust me when I say she still loved she did, but when it came time for her to come back yes she was pissed but she always Cared.
Nadia: I guess she always had a spot in her heart reserved for you. Cause she was always being asked out on dates, but she never accepted them.
Jay: I got another chance with her, and I will not fuck it up. Mark my words I'm going to marry that woman.
Everyone at the table: 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
Jay: Don't be surprised, I love her to much to let her get away again. She's the one I wanna grow old with!
Adam: awww, To jay and Sarge!
Jay: Yea never say that again!
Kevin: I'm with jay, don't say ever again. I felt creeped out even toasting To that.

Everyone at the table continued to drink and Joke around. Everything was having a great time but jay was ready to go home, he really missed Erin and Leo.

Back at Halstead/Lindsay home Erin and Leo just finished their pizza and was currently watching Boss baby. Leo thought this movie was super funny, the movie brought about the next conversation.

Leo: Mom, Will I ever have a little brother or sister?
Erin: 😳umm um I have to talk to dad about that.
Leo: will you and dad ever get married?
Erin: 😳 I don't know maybe one day.
Leo: Do you not wanna marry dad?
Erin: Oh trust me I do!
Leo: Do you still love dad?
Erin: I've never stopped, your dad is the only man I have ever truly loved. I love him so much because he helped make you, and you are complete perfection in my eyes.
Leo: 🥰

Leo and Erin finished watching the movie until Leo fell asleep in her arms. She didn't have the courage to move him so they both fell asleep on the couch. When Jay finally came home he noticed them both sleep on the couch Leo was laid across Erin's legs hugging her around the waist, he would've felt bad if he moved them. He left them sleep on the couch, and threw a blanket over them. Jay left and went took a shower, after he was done he joined his family on the couch. He went and sat down next to Erin and she moved and cuddled into his side. Jay kissed her on the forehead before falling asleep himself.
