Chapter 18

Today was the day jay would officially ask Erin to be his girlfriend, he was more nervous this time. They both have felt the same about each other, they've spent a lot of time together. So he wanted to make it official, and the best way to do was to ask Leo if he was okay with it. Leo probably wouldn't mind, he just want both of his parents under one roof. So jay took Leo out for lunch, so he could ask him.

Jay: How about me and you go out for some deep dish pizza 🍕.
Leo: I love pizza, so yea we can go.
Jay: well go put clothes, you can't where you pajamas.
Leo: okayyyy!
Jay: Hey Er, me and Leo are going out for pizza.
Erin: ooh pizza 🍕!
Jay: Sorry this is for some guy time, but I'll bring you back some.
Erin: ouch, that sting. I can't hang with my 2 favorite guys.
Jay: As much as I would love that too, nope I want to spend Valentine's with both of you. So Leo gets me in the for lunch and you can have me for dinner and dessert.
Erin: wow, that was very clever. I guess I'll take dinner with you.
Jay: What about dessert?
Erin: We have to see how dinner goes first.
Jay: okay, we'll see then.😊 Leo are you ready?
Leo: Coming dad!

Leo finished getting ready, and headed back to jay, after they both said bye to Erin they left and headed to Lou Malnati's pizza. They have some of the best pizza in Chicago. Once the arrived they both sat at a table, and ordered drinks, Leo asked for a sprite and jay a Coke.
Jay ordered 2 large pizzas, one cheese and one Malnati Chicago classic.

Jay: Hey bud I wanted to ask you question?
Leo: Yea dad.
Jay: How would you feel if I ask your mom to be my girlfriend?
Leo: umm, Would you be at the house more?
Jay: yea!
Leo: Will we be able to hangout more?
Jay: Yea! Whenever you want.
Leo: Then yes, mom is really happy when your around us. I have a question for you?
Jay: okay, what is it?
Leo: How come you never asked  mom to  marry you?
Jay: Along time ago I wanted to, but I was in a bad headspace. I needed to figure everything out, so I could be better for her.
Leo: Are you better now?
Jay: much better now!
Leo: So, you will ask her again?
Jay: Yes, I will! When we're both ready you will be the first one to know.
Leo: you promise?
Jay: I promise.

Waitress : here is your large cheese pizza, and large Malnati classic. If you don't mind me saying, you have a handsome kid.
Jay: Thank you!
Waitress : If Your ever free here's my number!
Leo: dad, which pizza are we gonna bring home to mom!
Waitress: Oh, um I'm sorry I just thought...
Leo: He was single, nope he's with my mom.
Jay:😂, you are definitely your mother's son. Here eat some pizza.😂😂
Leo: 😁

After eating their pizza, they headed back to the house. Leo had asked Jay to play the video game with him.

Jay: Er.. we're back!
Erin: Great, How was it?
Jay:👀
Leo:👀
Jay+Leo:😂😂😂
Jay: you go set up the game and I'll tell her.
Leo: We both will tell her!
Jay: fine
Leo: We was talking and our waitress brought our pizza to the table.
Jay: She told me I had a handsome son and I said thank you.
Leo: then she wrote her phone number on a napkin, and said if your ever free to call me.
Jay: Then Leo says "dad, which pizza are we bring back home to mom"
Leo: She was like " oh I sorry I just thought"
Jay: Leo told her " Thought he was single,
No he's with my mom" and she hurry up and left the table.😂😂😂
Leo: Then dad said you are your mother's son😂😂😂
Erin:😂😂 I'm glad you 2 had a great time.
Jay: We did, now we're going play the game. Your pizza is in the box.
Erin: Thank you!
Jay: no problem!

Jay and Leo, left and went to his room to play the game. Jay hadn't realized they were playing for a few hours, he still had to get ready for his dinner date with Erin. So he told Leo he would see him later, and that nick was gonna watch him since Nadia had a date. He didn't mind, he liked nick too. So jay left and headed to the jewelry store to pick up his order, then he headed back to his apartment to freshen up. He used tiger soap Erin really liked, and the cologne she brought him. He trimmed and cleaned up his beard. Before he left the house, he made himself an overnight bag, just in case the night went how he wanted it to.

At Erin's house Leo is making sure his mom looks amazing, she put her hair in some tight curls, and did her makeup. She didn't add to much, but just enough so jay could still see her natural beauty. She's wearing a red body-con dress with off the shoulder straps, and a slit that goes up the mid thigh. She paired the dress with some black red bottom Louis Vuitton's. For accessories, she put on a diamond bracelet and necklace.  She was now ready.

Leo: WOW, you look so pretty mommy!
Erin: Thank you munchkin.
Leo: Have fun tonight, and whatever daddy ask you just say yes.
Erin: 😂 okay!

Erin: I'm coming!
Jay: 😍😍 WOW ER.... you look amazingly Gorgeous.
Erin: Thank you, you look very handsome yourself!😍
Jay: Thank you❤️
Erin: Be good for nick okay.
Leo: yes ma'am.
Erin: Love you, see you later!
Leo: love you too❤️ See you later daddy! Love you!❤️
Jay: See you later buddy. Love you too.

Jay and Erin got in the car and headed to their restaurant. They both set in silence for a little bit, until jay reached for her hand. She blushed, but then intertwined their hands.

Erin: So Dinner and dessert?
Jay: If you get through dinner, I hope theirs room for dessert.
Erin: I hope so too😉.
Jay: I hope we're talking about the same thing.
Erin: Where are we going?
Jay: I Have reservations at Alinea!
Erin: 😳 That restaurant is very exclusive and very expensive.
Jay: I know but tonight's a special night, so don't worry about the price.
Erin: okay, but you do know we could've went somewhere cheaper.
Jay: I know!

Erin and jay walked into the restaurant and was ushered to their table. Jay asked for their most recommended bottle of wine. Jay sat across from giving her that amazing Halstead grin.

Erin: You know Leo gets that from you.
Jay: What?
Erin: His charm, he really got all the traits from you that I absolutely love.
Jay: So you love my traits .
Erin: Yes, I do.
Jay: what traits do you love?
Erin:  your smile, your eyes, your freckles. There's other things in love 😉.
Jay: That was sweet of you.
Erin: I try. How about we order?
Jay: yea!
Erin: We will do the salon menu.

Jay and Erin set through 12 different courses of dinner, they both wen back and forth with their playful banter. Jay was just working up the nervous to ask her.

Jay: So Er...
Erin: Yea?
Jay: I was wondering will you be my Valentine?
Erin: ❤️ of course!
Jay: Okay, so I have 1 more question?
Erin: okay!
Jay: I want to make it official, Will you be my girlfriend?
Erin: Definitely, I would love to be your girlfriend.
Jay: To end our dinner I wanna give your gift.
Happy Valentine's Day Er.....

Erin open the jewelry box to find a ring 💍, she looks at Jay.

Erin: What is this?
Jay: This is a promise ring, with this ring I promise to always be there for you, and I promise that I'm in this relationship for the long run and that I promise when we are both ready I will turn this ring into an engagement. I already see my future with you. So do you accept this promise?
Erin: I do, Happy Valentine's Halstead.

Jay and Erin finished their date at the Alinea , and then head back to the house for some dessert 😉.......
