The Return....

Chapter 21

Adam: Sooo, Erin are you ever gonna tell us how you know the Cubs.
Erin: Umm, sure I met them when we worked a case in New York. The case doesn't matter but we helped the team out by cracking the case. Joe wanted to thank us by giving us dugout seats, we told him we were huge Cubs fans.
Ever since then we've stayed in close contact, when they would come to New York they always invited to the games, and when we managed to sneak into Chicago we would also attend games.
Adam: wow 😯, so this whole time you could've been hooking us up with tickets to the game.
Erin: I mean yea, but I was tryna stay hidden from you all.
Antonio: I understand that, but can we still get some tickets.
Erin: do you want tickets or do you prefer to meet the team👀.

Kevin: I would like to meet the team!
Kim: I'm with kev, I'd like to meet the team.
Antonio: same.
Nick: it's time for the tie breaker!
Jay: What tiebreaker?
Mouse: so we've met the Cubs players a few times, and these last few times we play a few games. Right now we're tied 2-2, and this game will be a tiebreaker.
Adam: okay when do we get to meet the team.
Erin: Sunday, Leo has a baseball scrimmage on Saturday and we don't have to work on Sunday. 
Kevin: Alright, what time is Leo's scrimmage for?
Erin: I believe 1pm, and you don't have to come.
Kevin: Well I want to, so I'll be there!
Leo: Thanks uncle Kev.

That week went by really slow, intelligence had picked up quite a few cases over the week. Fortunately they didn't have to go into the office over the weekend.

Leo on the other hand had been really quiet after he was picked up from school. Jay and Erin had suspect something was wrong. The teacher emailed Erin saying that some older kids started bullying Leo when he told them he knew the Cubs players. Erin didn't ask him about the incident she wanted Leo to be able to come to her. After Leo played his scrimmage game and won, they decided to take him out for some ice cream.

After their ice cream celebration, the family went home and hung out, the played a few board games and order some pizza. They went to sleep early because of their big day ahead of them.

The next morning..........

Leo: I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!
Jay: Hey calm down bud let's get some breakfast first.
Leo: Okayyy!
Erin: morning munchkin are you ready for today?
Leo: Yup, I'm ready!
Jay: He's beyond ready. How about we just pick up some breakfast on the way.
Leo: yea!
Erin: fine by me.

Before heading to Wrigley field Erin stopped and brought some breakfast for the family. The rest of the team met them at Wrigley field. Everyone met up at the front gate, since the players were practicing the front office was closed.

Security: I'm sorry this field is closed off to the fans right now.
Head security: Leo is that you buddy, we've missed you around here.
Leo: 😁
Security: Sir but no ones..
Head security: How about you go tell Joe Maddon, how you won't let his guest of honor in.
Security: oh I didn't.....
Head security: exactly, come on everyone right through this way. Hey Leo, I heard you made the team. Congratulations buddy!
Leo: Thank you!
Adam: An 8 year old is more popular than me.
Kevin: Yea that's not surprising at all.
Head security: alrighty everyone the field is through those doors and to your right. Have fun!

Kim: I'm low key excited!
Adam: I'm nervous.
Mouse: I'm ready for us to take the win. Let's go!
Erin: Guys you don't have to be nervous, their just regular people.
Adam: regular people, really Erin they won the World Series last year. Their legends in the making.
Erin: 🙄

Kris: If it isn't the Leo the great. What's up bud?
Leo: not much just excited for the day.
Joe: Hey Erin, nice to have you back out here. Care to introduce everyone else.
Erin: yea, These are the detectives from the 21 district intelligence unit. You have Antonio, Adam, Kim, Kevin, Jay, and you all remember Mouse, Nick, and Nadia.
Joe: Jay as in Halstead.
Jay: yea...
Joe: Ohhhh so that's lover boys, and Leo's dad.
Erin: yup🙃, but we're actually dating now.
Joe: congratulations, she wouldn't stop talking about you.
Kris: what's up mouseyy, Nicky and nads. It's been a while since we've hung out, last time was in New York.
Mouse: Yup, but today we're breaking the tie.
Kris: alright, how about we practice with Leo, then we settle the tie breaker.
Nick: Deal!
