Chapter 45

LAINA'S POV

On the ride home from Cat World I played with Button in my lap. She was purring contently as she curled herself into a ball.

"What are the boys gonna say when they see this." Connor asked and laughed.

"Oh shit the boys." I said and pulled my phone out of the center console. I had like 100 texts from Sam and I decided to call him.

PHONE CALL

L: Hey baby

S: Lai where on earth are you you've been gone for like 4 hours

L: Me and Connor bought something kinda big, we'll be home soon.

S: okay, I just miss you so when you get home lets hang out, I'll show you around the house.

L: okay sounds good love you Sam

END

The rest of the car ride was kind silent because I hate music and I had Button in my lap distracting me from any conversation with Connor. But I was distracted by something. Connor's hand. During my phone call with Sam, Connor had laid his hand on my thigh, rubber circles on it with his thumb. I tried to pay attention to my sleeping kitten, but Connor's hand made me want to make him pull over and attack him in the back seat. I didn't completely understand our relationship yet, considering he had kissed me when we first met, but I assumed we were just friends, I mentally kicked my former self for that decision.

After 15 minutes of Connor's hand torturing me, we were finally home. I carried the kitten and Connor got the supplies we had bought for her and we walked inside.

"WE'RE HOME!!!" Connor yelled and I jumped and winced. Connor gave me a weird look and I just shrugged and laughed nervously. He didn't seem too suspicious, and the boys came into the room one by one. They all stopped when they saw my new kitten.

"Oh my god I want one!" the youngest boy yelled.

"Trevor how about I take you tomorrow because I have a feeling Button here isn't really Laina AND my cat, I'm gonna get another one." Connor said and pat Trevor on the back. I laughed and shrugged which caused all the other boys to laugh.

Sam motioned for me to bring the cat over so I waved to the other miscreants in the room and walked up the stairs behind Sam.

We passed Kian's room, where he was blasting loud angry music. "Is he okay?" I asked, I wanted to cover my ears from all the screaming coming from the music and from Kian, but I had Button in my hands.

"Yeah he's fine. Okay Laina this is your room." Sam said opening the last door on the left side of the hallway. The second I stepped in memories hit me like bullets. Not one of them good a memory. I sat on my bed and looked at the pictures that vandalized my wall. I laid Button in her bed that Connor had put up here and she slept there.

"So what do you think?" Sam said sitting next to me and pulling me onto his lap. I put my arm around his waist, taking in his scent and enjoying the aura of happy that he gave me.

"It's bringing stuff back." I said quietly. I remembered that we had moved from a smaller house where I had first met all these boys the first time. I remembered that the boy whose room I slept in had walked away in my time of need, which made me furious and sad, even though I don't even remember what he did. I remembered Lia.

"Lia." I said and grabbed my phone.

"You remember Lia?" Sam said excitedly and hugged me tight.

"I need to call her."

PHONE CALL WITH LIA

Lia: Laina! I never expected you to call! The boys told me what happened, how are you?

Lai: I just remembered you haha. Lia I need you here. It'll be easier to remember things with you here.

Lia: Laina I can't. I'm in Virginia again, I'm recording and I'm getting a lot done with AwesomenessTV.

Lai: with what?

Lia: you'll remember soon enough haha

Lai: okay, just text me and FaceTime me soon okay?

Lia: of course. I love you babes

Lai: Love you too.

"It's getting late," I say looking at the clock, it read 10:45pm

"Yeah you should sleep, you can have a full nights sleep and not just 15 minutes tonight." Sam said chuckling.

"I love you, goodnight." I said while shoving Sam out of the room and picking up Button and putting her in my bed and crawling in next to her to sleep, her fuzzy tail kept hitting my face as she dreamed.

After 4 hours of trying to sleep I couldn't. It was 2:45am and I was so tired, but couldn't fall asleep. I scooped Button into my arms and put her in her bed. I opened the door and saw a faint light coming from underneath the door of the room I had slept in.

I walked quietly down the hall and knocked softly on the door three times, regretting even getting out of bed. I was about to turn around and go back to bed, when the door opened.

"Oh uh hey Laina." The tall boy said to me and scratched the back of his neck.

"Um hi. I couldn't sleep... and my legs kinda carried me here." I said nervously. For some reason tears formed in my eyes. I didn't know this guy, and I don't know why I felt safe coming to him. "I'm sorry I'll just go back to my room." I said and tried to turn around.

"Laina." he said gently holding my shoulder back from moving. He was waiting for me to turn around and face him, look up into his beautiful eyes and remember him, but it wouldn't happen.

"Yes?" I say looking back at the boy, his eyes full of sleep, but he opened his door wider.

"You can come in if you want." he said and waited for me to enter. I walked in and it was a lot cleaner than it had been before. He turned off the light and crawled into bed, I followed him.

My eyes instantly felt heavy and I was about to pass out. "Goodnight Laina." he whispered.

I scooted my body extra close to him, putting my head on his chest. "I love you Kian, goodnight." And with that I fell asleep.

KIAN'S POV

She just said my name. Did she remember me? I guess I won't be sleeping now.

For hours I thought about what it would be like in the morning, her awakening and realizing she loves me, we would be together then, finally, we could be together and I could break up with Andrea.

I put my arms around her and put my head on hers, smelling her shampoo and falling into a light sleep.
