Chapter 9

LAINA'S POV

"Lai!" I heard Kian call from downstairs waking me up from sleep. I walk downstairs my only thought is, ugh school in 10 days.

"Yeah KiKi?" I say running up behind him and jumping on his back.

"Haha, what do you think of her?" he said showing me an adorable Basset Hound puppy on his computer.

"Aw!! Oh my.." and then it hit me, Joker!! I left him back home!! "I need to call my mom right now!" I practically scream and jump off Kian.

Phone call with Mom

M: Laina! Baby I haven't heard from you in forever!

L: Mom, mom how's Joker? Oh my God mom I miss you so much.

M: Come visit! Everyone misses you! And then you can take Joker back with you!

L: OMG YES MOM I WILL YES! Wait, can I bring a friend?

M: Of course, the more the merrier, Kian I assume?

L: Yeah haha, I'll call you later for details, can I get a flight for tomorrow?

M: We will try! Love you!

END OF CALL

"Who's Joker?" Kian asks from behind me.

"My puppy, I'm going to get him and bring him home!" I say and clap.

"I'm coming right??" Kian pouts.

"Of course goofball." I say and slap him.

LATER THAT DAY

"LAI!!" I hear a familiar voice yell from the doorway.

"OMG NO WAY!! RICKY MINAJ!!!!!!" I scream at Ricky and hug him. "And this is the famous Trevor Moran!" I say and Trevor and I hug, he's a lot taller than I expected.

"I heard we are going to school together in 10 days!" Trevor said in a sarcastically excited voice.

"YAY! Now I have two friends at school!"

"We are friends?!" Trevor practically screams.

"Best friends!" I scream and hug him.

"Okay let's all go out for lunch at Panera!" Ricky says and shoots a very stylish duck face.

"Yes! The one in the Grove so we can do a photo booth afterwards?" I plead.

"YES!" Kian, Trevor, Ricky, JC, Connor, Bethany, Troye, Tyler, Lia, and Jenn all say in unison.

We start to head out the door and on the way out I run right into Sam on the front step.

"Sam." I say under my breath and look at the ground.

"Laina, I really need to talk to you." he said and looks at the ground too.

"Can we take two cars? Kian, JC, Jenn, Lia will you all wait for me?" I ask.

They all nod and walk to the separate cars.

"Laina, I'm sorry." he starts.

"I know you are Sam, I just can't get hurt again."

"Laina you don't understand. I've spent all my time without you thinking about you, thinking about your smile, your laugh, when you sing along to songs in the car quietly so you think I can't hear you but I can, when you get nervous and you bite your lip and run your right arm. Everything about you keeps on running through my brain. And I continue to rack my brain to try to think of how to win you back. Laina," he gets down on one knee and pulls out a little box, "this is a box full of letters, (haha gotcha bitches) I wrote one everyday when we weren't together, describing how I feel and why I need to be with you. You can read them and think about it, or you can not, do whatever you need." he stood up and I jumped into his arms and kissed him.
