[H.26] High School: Diary Entry Twenty-Six

A/N: The picture is a place of where the two go. It's the herb garden! Anyways, I am going to be posting every week until I finish the High School arc. I figured that since we've been in the arc for like 3 years, might as well finish it. The rating will go higher due to the situations that arise. I won't put anything too graphic though, but the air of things certainly get darker. Enjoy!

Kuroko ogles you in awe just like the first day his eyes met yours in that middle school classroom. Stunned by your beauty, his body stays frozen in place as you step out of the train. Two thick braids don the crown of your head and lead to the back where they tie together into a half-ponytail. Your bangs are neatly ironed and show the glossy shine of your healthy hair.

High waist pleated mini-skirt, frilled long-sleeve blouse, knee-high black socks with ankle boots. The moment anyone catches sight of your form, they do a double-take and admire you. Kuroko gulps. The fact that you are his girlfriend still feels like a dream.

"Tetsuya!" you gasp as you rush over to him. He doesn't have a chance to speak, not when you jump onto him with a tight hug. "I'm so happy!"

Kuroko freezes up again. It isn't until you let go that he begins to defrost. "I am too. I have a lot planned for today."

You hop in your boots at the thought of a full day with him. "What's first?"

Kuroko takes out his phone and inspects the contents of his list. "We're doing the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens first."

A certain giddiness has you clasping his arm close to your body. He reddens at the contact unbeknownst to you. His mind wanders to the heated times you two shared alone in your living room. He truly loves you more than he ever thought he would, more than he ever thought he could.

The feel of you close to him leaves him thankful for the fact that he was brave enough to confess his feelings to you on that fateful day.

After having taken a good stack of photos of all the flowers and views of the herb gardens, you two begin your travels to the next station. The bright orange colors of the afternoon paint the view of the city. With hands intertwined, Kuroko takes you to the area surrounding the Kobe Port Tower.

Despite its touristic appearance, the charm still feels very much alive. Lines of merchant stalls litter the concrete floor, and the ocean serves as a backdrop to the pier. The two of you munch on some steamed buns acquired at one of the stalls. Amidst the sea of students loitering along the stalls, you notice a familiar tuft of hair. Your feet bring you closer until you're right behind her.

"Aya?"

Said girl turns on her heel at the sound of her name. She recognizes you instantly and smiles widely. "[NAME]!!!" She bounces onto you, giving you a strong hug. "What are you doing here alone?"

"I'm not alone. I'm with my boyfriend," you state simply as you point to Kuroko. She jumps in shock while he gives her a slight bow.

"Hello, I'm Kuroko Tetsuya. Pleased to meet you." His even tone throws her off, but what sends another wave of confusion is his undetectable presence. He spots the look she gives him, 'is he really HER boyfriend?'.. but it doesn't deter him from standing firm beside you.

"Oh wow, hi." Her energy lowers. "Um... This is my boyfriend, Matsumoto-kun, and some of his friends from school."

Your hand returns to Kuroko's as you realize the attention of several boys honed on to you. The boyfriend, Matsumoto, stands next to Aya. He bores shaggy brown hair and a disheveled school uniform while the rest of his friends show the same lack of care to their outfits. Their pants are weighed down and their shirts are tucked out and crinkled.

You don't enjoy the way they eye you. Neither does Aya. "Come on, guys! She's taken!"

Matsumoto snickers, "Sure, she is. You know, you're quite famous in our school... I think you're famous in a lot of the schools in your area."

You frown at the thought of people knowing you. "W-Why is that?"

Aya crosses her arms. "A lot of stupid boys take pictures of you at the games and share them with each other. It's really weird."

You reeeeeally don't like that and a shudder escapes you. Kuroko notices this and holds your hand tighter. He's known about this for a while. Pictures of you at the games spread like wildfire until it reached his school. It wasn't until it appeared in Junpei's phone that he was made aware of the circulation.

"Ignore them though," Aya huffs as she begins to shoo away the rowdy group. "Boys are always so stupid, right?"

You glance up at Kuroko, "No, not all."

"AWWW!" Aya coos as she holds her head. "I never thought I'd see the day my beautiful [Name] would be so in love with a boy! You must be really special, Kuroko."

Kuroko scratches the back of his head as his cheeks heat up. He has no words in response to her comment, but thankfully, you continue the conversation. "Yes, he's the only one for me."

Aya screams at the declaration. "OHMIGOD! THANK YOU!!! Now the rest of us girls have a chance at ikemen!"

You let out a giggle, "Aya, you can be so funny at times."

"It's true! Imagine if you were single and dating whoever you wanted. Everyone will have to keep their boyfriends closely to make sure they don't run off with you," Aya explains.

"That's... horrible," you shake your head. "I wouldn't be going after people's boyfriends."

"Oh, right. You'd also need a horrible personality. Then you'd really be a force to reckon with," Aya nods her head.

Kuroko clears his throat as he finally speaks up. "Thankfully, she has a great personality."

Aya cannot contain her squealing and earns the attention of everyone at the port. "Gosh you guys are the cutest. Okay, I need to go before my boyfriends gets mad..." She gives you a quick hug before running off with the rest of her group.

As you two watch her leave, you let out a chuckle. "Well, that's Aya."

"Yes, she's very much what I envisioned." Kuroko smiles at you. "But I'm happy she's a supportive friend to you."

You smile back and you both return to walking. The rest of the day goes by quick as you venture around the tower and head back to your hotels. You feel that you're at your peak of happiness and the lockscreen of your phone proves just that: a picture of you and Kuroko at the top of the tower, faces jelled together as you both smile at the phone.

But after a peak, there's descent that will crush both your hearts.
