A/N: Even though this story doesn't get as much attention, I am still obsessed with writing it. I got the entire college arc's story lined out and I gotta type up like 10 chapters at a time to start pre-writing things. I am very proud of myself... and despite the horrible shit I am going to do to my characters, I promise that there will be a happy end for the most part.

The clock's ticking echoes in your apartment. Nijimura's door still remains closed, permitting you no chance to talk to him. It has been this way since Marie broke up with him a few days ago.
Guilt halts your desire to force yourself through the door as you know some fault lies with you. However, an unanswered question is also partly to blame for your absence. Are you truly in love with your childhood friend? Afraid of any realizations, you run from your answer and continue busying yourself with other matters.
You pack the last of your belongings into your bookbag and slip on your sneakers. One last look at the bleak surroundings and you head off towards the train station to spend the weekend with your boyfriend and parents.

The familiarity of your hometown brings some comfort yet the nostalgia of your time spent with Nijimura haunts your every action. Your mom waits for you by your home entrance as she waters some plants. She does a poor job as her only intent is to watch for you.
Once she spots you, she grins brightly and rushes over. "Welcome home!" she hugs you with one hand while her other is occupied with a watering can, and ends up splashing you with water.
"M-Mom!"
"Sorry, sorry!" she exclaims as she pats you down with her apron. "You left lots of clothes here at home. Just change into those."
You shake your head. "I probably don't fit in those as much maybe."
"Why? You look like you've lost weight."
You smile sadly at her observation. Unfortunately, you did lose weight much to your displeasure. You enjoyed the bit of blubber that sat around your figure; it made you look proportional and healthy. Plus, it made Kuroko happy seeing you eat with gusto.
Recent events, however, warranted much less eating and more vomiting in fear of your classmates. You felt like a nervous wreck now that your stomach can no longer handle any grievances. After almost any class with Marie and her goons, you'd blitz over to the bathroom each time. It got so bad that you have been carrying a bag inside your purse with a travel-size toothpaste and toothbrush.
The result is a husk of your former self, one that your mother ponders on. "What's the matter?"
"I just feel kinda crappy right now," you admit.
"Where Shuzo?"
"... Why does it matter?" you look away.
"Because you guys are always glued to the hip."
"I'm glued to Kuroko," you correct her.
She pauses and her eyebrows squeeze together with reluctance. Not wanting to continue the conversation, she shrugs and ushers you inside. A flicker of hope resonates in your heart, but the empty house leaves you discontent.
With Kuroko always going above and beyond to be romantic, you expected him to be at your home waiting yet he is nowhere to be seen. He did text you to have a safe trip home and that he will see you later after he finishes practice. You thought it to be a farce to surprise you, but your assumption only brings disappointment.
