[C.27] College: Diary Entry Twenty-Seven

A/N: Very long chapter ahead! I might slow be slow with updates until the end of January. I have a lot of things going on and a vacation. However, I am still writing and finishing the story. Almost done with the last few chapters. Please enjoy!

It's been a week since Kuroko had started his university life, and yet he still finds himself at a loss every time he spots you. Whether it be passing you in the cafeteria or in a hallway, he does his best in avoiding your detection. At times, he wishes to be courageous and greet you, though the pain of heartbreak still lingers in his chest.

He knows the encounter is imminent as you sport the manager position for the team. He also has to face Njimura, who appears to be nowhere near you whenever he spots your presence. You two were always glued together, so he can only assume that something did happen in the relationship.

In the midst of his pondering, he forgets to fog your detection and leaves himself vulnerable to voyaging gazes. One in particular has tried to scavenge him for days and finally zeroes in on him.

Kuroko senses the intense gaze his way, moving his head slightly in the direction of it. When your eyes meet with his, he can practically see your whole world come to a stop. As your group continues walking, you abruptly halt your movements to verify what you see. Kuroko isn't sure himself on how to proceed, his feelings still as fierce as ever.

"Tetsuya..." you breathe out. You tentatively step forward in his direction, and when you see his willingness to stay, you march forward to approach him. Although he is with friends, you ignore their gawking stares on you as well as the people who surround you.

"[L.Name]." He can't seem to smile as worry entraps his heart in a hurricane of chaos. "Hi."

You smile with relief as excitement glows from your body. Again, he can't help but admire your beauty, but the feeling comes with the pain that you've inflicted on him. His departure from your life still reigns over his heart, and the way he left you sobbing at that park still torments him at night.

However, that pain is barely a flicker in your expression. He spots optimism and a true happiness to be near him. "Um, Kuroko!!" You take in a quick exhale. Many unfamiliar faces watch you as you shout out with determination, "Please go out with me!"

The area becomes muted with shock. It's as if the always bustling hallway has stilled to view the interaction. However, Kuroko cares little for the attention and does as he pleases. "Can I think about it a little?"

"YOU'RE TURNING HER DOWN?!" his friend gasps. "ARE YOU INSANE?!"

You shake your head as you smile gratefully. "N-No, he isn't insane. I hurt him in the past, so I'm just happy he didn't fully reject me."

Kuroko examines your reaction which is far cry from last he rejected you. "Excuse me, I have to go eat."

"Can I come with?" You try to push in, but he still feels guarded.

"I'd like to eat with my friends. We can speak later, senpai," he responds. "There is practice today."

"Okay, I will see you there then... Have a nice lunch!"

"You too, senpai."

You heart beats rapidly in your chest, and it's as you expected. There is no way of getting rid of him from your heart.

"It's all over the school that you asked someone out," Abe chuckles as he stands just outside the closet. Practice has now finished for the night, and everyone is preparing to head for the bar where a welcome dinner awaits.
