[C.40] College: Diary Entry Forty

A/N: Last chapter!! If you haven't read my other KnB stories, you may be a liiiittle lost. But basically this takes place after the Aomine and Midorima story, during chapter 2 of the Akashi story, and sometime during the Kise story that I haven't touched in forever since I had to advance in this one.

[6 Years Later]

You gawk at a tall figure at your door. When you first heard him state his name on the intercom, you thought it was a joke and hung up. It took a lot of convincing for you to allow him access to the building, but now as he stands before you, you cannot help but admire in awe. 

"Yo."

"Kagami-san," you say in a daze, "you're actually in Japan."

"I wanted to drop by and see Tetsu."

An awkward quiet befalls the two of you as it takes you a moment to register the request. "Oh! Yes, please enter!" You open the door wider, allowing him entry into your apartment. He almost bumps his head but crouches to fit under the doorframe. 

As he walks through the hallway and into the living room area, he marvels at the view. "You can really see a lot of the city skyline."

"The kitchen balcony has a better view if you want to see it."

"It's fine." He slumps onto the plush sofa and reclines a bit. "When Tetsu said that you guys got a bigger apartment, I didn't know you'd get such a fancy one."

"We need it since we are having another child," you sigh. "Would you like some tea while you wait?"

"He's not here?"

"No, he is supervising basketball practice. He should be here in an hour," you inform him. "I'm making some dinner but I can make extra servings if you are staying to eat."

Kagami straightens up. "Oh, sorry if I'm imposing."

You laugh softly at his flustered state. "How odd it is to hear you apologize, but don't worry about it. Tetsuya will be over the moon to see you."

He says nothing as you scurry back into the kitchen. He can hear you fixing him up something while he waits, causing his mind to debate whether he should inform Kuroko of his arrival and ruin his surprise. However, the thought of barging in when his wife is alone has him feeling worried.

He's heard of the perils you two faced since your retirement from modeling. Many of your avid fans stalked and harassed you. When they learned of your first child being a girl, they fawned over her and began awaiting her ascension into modeling. It creeped out both you and Kuroko that you began heavily investing in security.

The peak of your troubles happened when one fan in particular was able to make it to your doorstep and tried to come into your apartment. That's when all of Japan learned about your black belt in karate, leaving the man beaten to an absolute pulp. 

You have reverted to a somewhat more cautious state, and now with your third child on the way, you cared little for the expense in acquiring this beautiful four-bedroom apartment. He's heard about everything as Kuroko expels all his concerns to him. 

And such concerns warrants a text. He sends one over to his friend to which Kuroko responds within seconds, thanking him for the respect to his wife but also allowing him refuge until he returns.

"Here we go!" you chirp as you place tea and cookies onto the table.

Kagami stares at snacks and then at your protruding stomach. Guilt continues to rise at his unexpected visit, but you rid him of his last desire to leave.
