With it being your first day as a third year, you thought you would be a mess of nerves. Your insecurities usually played a huge part in the first days of the new school year. New class, new people, new fears... but for some reason, you felt oddly excited.

Maybe it's the fact that Kuroko now travels with you on the train to school. Having him next to you and holding your hand calms your overactive mind. You don't give in to your detrimental emotions; you hadn't in quite some time, allowing yourself to experience liberation and tranquility.

"The next stop is mine," you whisper in his ear since it's far too noisy to even talk at a normal level. You notice his ears turn pink, and your cheeks flush in response. "S-Sorry."

"No, it's fine. I just wasn't expecting it."

You continue enjoying each other's company in silence. You're happy to be with him now and even more excited that you two have a date planned afterschool. You have so much to look forward to today, and it's only the morning.

The train arrives at its stop and you stand to leave. Kuroko quickly follows to see you out; he only has thirty seconds and does his best to use his time wisely. "Text me when you get there, okay?"

"Okay! If it gets too busy, I might not be able to text you."

"That's okay, we can talk about your day afterschool." His gentle smile has you ready for what's next. A shy grin makes way to your lips and he knows what you're waiting for. "See you later."

"Mhm!"

He bends down to kiss your cheek, giving you more than enough energy to conquer the day. Somehow these small acts of display in public have long stopped bothering you. In fact, you welcome them completely.

The train door closes with Kuroko behind it. You wave as you watch the train depart for the next station. "Okay!" you exclaim with a loud exhale.

The walk to school is colorfully mundane. Sakura trees line your vision as the bright sun ignites the colors around you. You never realized how vibrant your walk to school was until you reunited with Kuroko. You had always glanced down at your feet and avoided eye contact, but there was so much more to the world if you had just given it a chance.

"[Name]!" Aya calls out from afar. You glance over your shoulder to see her jogging over to your side. Trailing behind her is Yuuka, who appears to have been deserted.

"Good morning," you smile.

"I almost caught a glimpse of your boyfriend this time!" she exclaims with pride. "I can't believe he's so...."

"Elusive," Yuuka finishes her sentence once she catches up to you two. "We really do need to meet him."

You laugh softly at their comments. It's true that Kuroko has been especially talented in accidentally dodging your friends. When asked, he's surprised to have missed them and shows explicit interest to talk to them. It's just that the timing has been poor.

"I just need to find a good time, he really wants to meet you guys," you chuckle softly.

"When are you going to introduce me to Aomine?" Aya whines playfully. She knows the chances of him showing interest in her are slim, but she still attempts at the opportunity.

"I will ask when I can hold a decent conversation with him..." You make a tense face at the thought of interacting with Aomine by yourself.

"Take your time, but don't take your time." She sticks out her tongue and then proceeds to laugh heartily.

You flash her a grin, your emotions at the peak of bliss.
