A/N: Next week I'm gonna be busy so I don't know if I can update. Plus I don't want people thinking that the reader got out of her relationship so easy. :,) Please enjoy!

Saturday comes and you are finally in fighting form. You respond to Akari's multitude of texts to fill her in on your status, and she invites you to a nearby cafe to talk. Nijimura had already left for morning practice but promised to pick you up for a late lunch.
You spot Akari in a far corner of the cafe in her usual gothic goddess self. People stare at her with curiosity as their eyes try to inconspicuously measure her beauty. Her bi-colored hair is truly a trend, but the fishnet shirt, mini-skirt, and knee high boots do add to her anomaly.
A certain part of you finds the hilarity in your outfit as you wear a yellow sun dress and braids. You're her complete opposite in appearance, maybe even in some facets of your personality. However, she has been a great ally in the midst of your college troubles.
She spots your lingering stare and waves you over. Again, the patron's eyes follow until they land on you, but you ignore them in favor of Akari.
"Hello," you chirp as you settle in the wooden chair in front of her.
"Good morning." She smiles back as she hands you some papers. "So we got a new TA for the class, and they've been giving us assignments by paper. Clearly, he likes wasting resources and making a mess of our environment."
You chuckle at her passionate spiel as you place your bag on the chair's backrest. "Thank you so much for all the info. I have a lot to catch up on this weekend."
"For sure! I'm just happy it wasn't anything too serious. I actually chatted with your friend--" She tilts her head as she tries to remember the name. "Niji..."
"Oh, Shuzo!"
"Yeah, him. I always see you two together so I figured he'd know." She takes a sip of her latte. "He said it was a bad fever. I hope you didn't catch anything when you went home."
"No... It wasn't that." You stare listlessly at the menu in front of you. When a waitress passes by, you order a pastry and some juice.
Akari raises an eyebrow at your lack of response. "Are you okay?"
You debate on whether to tell her since it's too much of a story. But how much can you withhold until you burst with emotions? Even though you spilled most to Nijimura, breaking up with Kuroko still haunts you in your sleep and how can you confess about that to Nijimura?
But this girl. She seems so connected to the realities of this world, enough so that you trust her to be your rock in all this. "It's a long story, is that okay?"
Intrigued, she nods her head and when your order is delivered, you begin to recount your life's diary.

"It's natural to feel guilty. Being in love is already exhausting, but choosing between two people you love is the most taxing of all. Especially if you don't want to be messy," she hums as she gulps down her second latte order.
"I think it's already become messy."
"Of course it has. It will never be anything else but messy. I can't say that you're a saint, but no one is a saint and no one expects you to be one." She still spots the confliction in your attitude and sighs. "You're eighteen, almost nineteen. Whoever said that you're supposed to be with your destined person so soon? And whoever said that teenagers can make the right decisions all the time? You need to learn what works for you, ya know?"
