A/N: Extremely long chapter with some backstory and whatnot. Also a two year time skip! Anyways, we only have 2 more chapters left which I am so excited about. This story has been ongoing since like 2018 I think. So it's finally time to close the book on this long tale  -w-

Enjoy!

[College, Fourth Year]

Confidence oozes from your stature. From your straightened back to your long strides, everyone notices your presence as you travel around your school. Your title upgraded this year to Queen of the Campus due to your notoriety and involvement at the school. You've retained your role as treasurer to the Student Council, manager of the basketball team, and model. You also sport a black belt in karate.

"Dinner at 8pm then," Kuroko speaks up from beside you.

You nod your head and peck his cheek before seeing him off as he walks in the opposite direction towards his class. Once gone, you direct your stare at Nijimura, who has stepped to side to give you two privacy. "Do you want to come with us?"

"Nah... Besides, you only said that to be nice. You aren't really planning to invite me."

"Well, I don't want to leave my friend with nothing to do after he just got dumped again." You pat his back, sighing as you recall the disaster from a few days ago. "You need to stop finding girls with low self-esteem and bad personalities. They seem nice, timid and shy at first. You'd think she's the perfect girl but then BAM!! Out comes the insecurities."

Nijimura narrows his eyes. "You can't lump them all together."

Akari butts in, smiling ear to ear. "I mean the last three had that issue. I remember one of them had this whole fantasy of you and I being in this heart pounding romance drama."

"That's true!" you gasp. "How funny was that?!"

As you and Akari giggle together, Nijimura lets out a grunt in disapproval. "Enough with that."

That's the limit of his tolerance and you concede. "Anyways, the offer still stands."

Nijimura glares down at the floor, debating his choices. As much as he wants to respect your relationship with Kuroko, he has finally gotten to a better place with your friendship. It wouldn't hurt to start forming a better connection with your boyfriend again. Kuroko has attempted on multiple occasions to extend an olive branch, all fruitless attempts due to his hurt ego.

A mixture of embarrassment and shame plagues his soul. He had stolen you away from Kuroko yet couldn't keep you. His overprotective nature scared you back into Kuroko's arms and have been inseparable since; at times people forget that you aren't a married couple and have almost called you Kuroko as well.

Your unity with Kuroko means that if he wants to continue being close to you, he has to be friends with Kuroko. It's a truth he knows well but cannot act upon.

Nijimura opens his mouth to answer, but Akari elbows him slightly. He glances down at her to spot her shaking her head. Without question, he adheres to her plea and sighs, "Nah, I'm going to chill for the night."

You don't notice the exchange between them and take his answer at face value. "Okay... Do you want me to bring you back some food? My treat."
