[College, Second Year]
Another morning goes by quick, jammed with much to do. After participating in two lectures, Kuroko settles himself in a bench nearby the campus entrance, feeling tired yet calm. He unpacks his lunch slowly as he inspects the buzz around the plaza.
For the past three days, he has built a rhythm to his school life. After his morning classes, he participates in people-watching while eating his lunch. Then he returns to his afternoon classes before heading to the library. Soon he will replace his library sessions with basketball, but that isn't until next week.
As he chews on an egg roll, the sound of his two companions joining him becomes background music to his analyzation of the area. Many people are sitting around in groups on the floor or on benches. Not many groups possess more than four people to it. Most are small like his... except one area in particular.
This particular groups appears surrounded by multiple people, primarily male. Most hold a pink stain on their cheeks, while the girls wear envious stares. Many people are talking at the same time that the topic is practically indiscernible. He does catch some words that leads him to believe that it has something to do with the governing of the school, but when he hears a familiar name, he pauses his consumption.
"[L.Name]?" Kuroko utters out lowly. It's a name he hasn't heard in a while, a name he has been scouting for since he's stepped foot on campus.
He squints his eyes at the group as one of his companions takes note of his interest. "Are you talking about [Full Name]?"
Kuroko stops and gazes at his friend, a first year he found in his humanities class that has a vast social knowledge of the university. There should be no reason for the boy to have ties to you, and it makes Kuroko curious. "Do you know her?"
"Who doesn't?" he chuckles as Kuroko returns to inspecting the group. Finally, your form comes into view. You're dead center in it with a focused expression on the material before you. When someone makes a coherent sentence, you send them a polite smile and write down a note for yourself.
The shell of an indecisive girl had been shed in your time apart, and he can detect a sense of security to your actions. You've also discarded your girlish attire, opting for a more mature look. Instead of braided hair, you don a shoulder-length style with a natural tint. A deeper shade stains your lips, giving it a matte finish. Gone are your cute prints and bubbly skirts, a checkered collared blouse and one-tone colored skirt now dress your body.
It feels as if he's watching another girl, but your beauty still feels genuine. The way your body twists and turns in a refined manner; the way your face creases to show your beautiful smile; the way you authenticity shines the moment you speak, capturing the hearts of those around you. He can see the exact moment when some of them fall in love, intoxicated by your presence that they scoot closer.
But it doesn't make you uncomfortable. You show little fear, besides a small sweatdrop on your temple. You mention something, and they give you a healthy distance. It's as if you took matters into your own hands, something you always had trouble doing.
"She's beautiful, right?" his friend comments.
Kuroko glances up at him, who holds a love-stricken face. "..."
