Taehyung found himself entering the same hotel room in which he had recently met his aunt, followed by Jimin and Jaehyun. The latter one being a bit perplexed why his mother had told them to meet in this specific place instead of their own house or the house of one of his cousins. Anything but a hotel room that made him feel uncomfortable, but he had no time to complain.
Once she came to their view and they all stood in the silent room, Jimin handed to her the file he had kept hold of from the moment they had left the hospital, ignoring her cheerful greeting and the endearing gaze that she gave to both of them and especially Jimin since she had a long time since she last saw him. Unfortunately, though he had no energy to pretend to be happy nor to follow any proper ethical behavioral patterns for the moment.
"Auntie Jung, Please enlighten us about this situation. We need you to tell us the truth."Jimin uttered while a serious facial expression had taken over his face, one that he usually puts on in company meetings and situations where he wants to induce someone to comply with what he was asking of them.
His aunt however just froze under his gaze for a bit and after leaving her eyes to travel to her son's she opened the file, finding out that what they were talking about was what had crossed her mind a few seconds ago, making her grow this pale and distressed. She felt the ambient wavering all of a sudden, making her have the need to take some steps back and slowly grab on the arm of the couch in order to support herself as she took her seat. An action that made Jaehyun rush to her side reflexively out of worry for her while Taehyung seemed just instantly surprised a bit, unlike Jimin who's face showed no remorse whatsoever. As if he didn't even believe her.
"Mom, are you okay? Should I bring you some water?"Jaehyun questioned as he took hold of her hand gently.
"I will get it." Taehyung was the one that acted on his thought however and rushed to the mini-bar that was inside the room, soon coming back with a water bottle which he offered to her and Jaehyun opened it for her and made her take some sips gently.
"Now, if you have finished with your shocking act, can we go on?" Jimin interrupted the worrisome moment, making his aunt look at his cold gaze, which showed her clearly that he was not gonna be the one to leave space for her to pull any psychological tricks. He knew after all that when someone was to be cornered for wrongdoing, their first instinct would be to victimize and justify themselves but he didn't care much about that. He was not there to listen to her feelings rather than that all he wanted was the raw truth. Something that would end the storm of doubt within him. The fight in his mind between one side of him which was screaming to him that everyone was fake and another side that reduced to believe that his parents' love was such a thing.
"Hey, Can't you be a bit more considerate?" Jaehyun gave an annoyed look at Jimin as he found his behavior rude and disrespectful but while they maintained eye contact, he could tell that this was not the right time to challenge him in any way.
"It's okay. He is right. I will tell you. Since it came to this...I will. However...I want you to know that your mother had made me swear to never tell. AhnJong would really not have wanted this." His aunt referred in name to her sister, in an attempt to put emphasis that their now-dead mother wouldn't have been pleased with this outcome but somehow her statement made Jimin even more bothered as he only saw her words as a mere guilt trap which he was not going to let it work.
"What does that matter now? We can't delete what the doctor said to us. So instead of feeling the need to say all these things to justify yourself, just start speaking up aunt Jung." There he goes again, calling her as formally as he always used to, his aunt thought as Jimin replied to her. He was always the id who since little didn't seem fond of her, no matter how good she was to him and no matter how many times she had told him, to refer to her by her name only, Bitna as it was. Yet Jimin had never uttered her name. Only Taehyung would freely call her auntie Bitna and run to hug her. The memories of them back then were really fresh to her and honestly, she wished that in their lives, she was to always remain a fun and loving aunt, but that apparently was not gonna be possible to happen.
