Chapter 5

You and Jungkook along with Daniel stood in the living room in a quite awkward atmosphere as none seemed to be taking the courage to start a conversation, leaving you all just looking at each other in silence for minutes that felt quite pressuring.

"So, em. I am sorry Mr. Kang, truth is I wasn't expecting you. My boyfriend didn't inform me that you had agreed on moving in. However, I am happy that you liked the house and that you found the contract suiting for you." You finally brought yourself to say something which you thought was friendly and welcoming enough yet for some reason made the stranger's eyes grow wide and look up at you in shock.

"B-Boyfriend?! Professor Park is your boyfriend?!?" He questioned, making both you and Jungkook look at him weirded out a bit.

"Professor? You know Jimin as a professor?" You asked and he proceeded a bit hesitantly to inform you that he was a current student of his and was very surprised to have seen him before his eyes the previous day.

"Oh, that coincidence sure must have shocked you. Still no need to feel uncomfortable. You will have your own room and I will follow the house's regulations as well so no visits of anyone would be often. Nonetheless, I guaranty that from the moment that Jimin found you eligible to stay, I don't think there will be any issues." You tried to reassure him, thinking that the reason behind his nervousness was the status of Jimin and the fear he may have for him.

"Well..about that...I kinda panicked before him and I left without agreeing. I texted him later, however. Saying that I still needed this stay. I am in a tight spot and...please accept me to stay here, I will pay the rent on time, I swear." Daniel lowered his head and fell on his knees pleading you to accept him as your housemate, thing that got you by surprise to say at least as you weren't expecting such a development.

"Please get up. It's okay, it's okay. Just..let's talk about it, I am sure we will find a solution." You kindly approached him while ushering him to stand up as his actions were making you uncomfortable.

"Really, you will help me?" He looked up at you with eyes full of hope that made you feel bad and as such it erased any chance of you saying anything negative at him or rejecting him.

"If I can help, I-I will try, I guess." You told him and gifted him a soft smile which seemed to make him relieved as he proceeded to stand up on his feet again.

"I have been homeless for some days now and I was staying with a friend. When I saw Professor Park I panicked yesterday and I didn't make a good impression on him so I fleed but when I got to my friend's house, he threw me out so, I am really in a tight spot." Daniel went on, explaining his misfortune that made you sympathize with him, till you heard Jungkook snicker.

"Ah, sorry for laughing. I recalled something funny." Jungkook stated, making you give him a suspicious glance as there was no way what he said was true and once you locked eyes with him you got certain that he laughed on purpose.

You looked at Daniel immediately after, your brain searching for the reason that could have made Jungkook laugh. What was it from all the things he said or did that made Jungkook dislike him so quickly? As such his gaze had made you think that he had.

His friend threw him out..he was homeless so he must have been thrown out from the place he was previously staying too...Yeah, I guess he sounds like someone that causes trouble.

You concluded in your head while thinking about everything he had said. He sure had a proper behavior and outer appearance till now, however. Maybe accepting to share the house with him wouldn't prove as a good idea but looking at how desperate he was, you hesitated to tell him so straight up.

"Mr.Daniel, unfortunately, I have found another roommate, since you hadn't fallen in an agreement yesterday with Mr. Park. I am willing to let you stay here for a month however, as such will be the time till my roommate arrives here. I hope this small time frame helps you and by the end of the month, you manage to find another place to stay. What do you think of this offer? " You decided to place him into a testing period without him knowing that it was one, so you wouldn't feel bad for throwing him out while he claimed to be homeless, nor you will have to share your house with someone that may really be troublesome. One month was enough to give him a chance to prove himself while also helping him find another place, in case he really proves not a good roommate and you really tell him to leave.

Jungkook looked away after you spoke, a subtle smile dancing on his lips from the satisfaction of how you had found a way to cover both Daniel's need while not trapping yourself in anything you may not like. It almost reminded him of the first day that you had walked into his apartment, as back then he was the first that had rented this place and you were the one that walked in, ready to share this house with him under certain rules which you had printed on a paper and had presented to him confidently as if you weren't the one in need for a place to stay but him. He had admired your behavior back then and from the moment you had signed to obey those house rules, neither you nor Jungkook had ever broken any.

"Oh...Okay. I-I will take your offer. Thank you, Miss Y/N. Thank you." Daniel responded making you smile a bit as you reached your hand out to him for a handshake.

"I hope we get along then."

Areum smiled as soon as she saw Jin approaching her table, in which she has been waiting for him for some minutes now.

"Sorry I am late. Something came up. Didn't mean to make you wait." He apologized immediately and Areum smiled more as she found his apology unnecessary.

"Don't worry about it. I have time." She replied as she observed him taking his seat opposite her and then proceeded to order his coffee.

"Is Jungkook not with you today?" Jin questioned as he didn't notice her boyfriend around.

"There is no need for him to be always  with me."

"Yes, but he has the need to always be with you, especially if you are meeting me. Or it may be just my imagination." Jin commented with a slight smile which made Areum look down for a second.

"He can be exaggerating sometimes but have no worries, he respects you fully."Areum defended Jungkook subtly and Jin just nodded with a smile, as he didn't really mind Jungkook around either way. He had no suspicious intentions towards Areum nor had he kept his friendship with her for any personal benefits. He just really respected her and thought well of her and for the little that he knew her, he used to have fun in her company so why not stay friends.

He had broken off their engagement and had taken all the blame on his own shoulders, defending her honor and he had taken quite a lot of criticism for that however from the moment that he considered it right, he had not regretted it even for a second as he knew that Areum wasn't meant for him, nor he ever felt like she was.

"Good, so... I don't want to sound rude but, could you please tell me why did you want to see me?" Jin awkwardly got on the point of their meeting as he, unfortunately, didn't have much time to spare today.

"Sure, Sorry, You must be busy" Areum apologized sincerely before proceeding to take a look around and then leaned a bit closer.

"I heard your brother Namjoon is going to get engaged soon. Is it true?" She left her words to escape from her lips, having trust that her asking that wouldn't reach anyone else ears but Jin's as she had him to be a trustworthy man.

"Yes, It's the truth.  He has been dating Lee Byeol for a while and they plan on making their engagement soon." Jin replied despite the fact that he was perplexed about the reason why Areum would be interested in such information.

"I see."Was all she replied with while a worried expression took over her facial features.

"Is something wrong with that fact?"He couldn't help but put her under the tight spot of that question as he felt as if she was hiding something he happens to not know.

"Oh, no, nothing. I was just surprised. After that accident, I am happy your brother has returned so soon on his normal pace of life." She replied and smiled yet Jin could tell that her smile was not sincere enough. Unfortunately, though he also knew that if he was to be persistent he was not gonna get anything out of her, so he just smiled back and looked to his right, as the waiter had just arrived, bringing him his coffee.
