The fragrance of the yellow roses had engulfed the place for one more moring, gifting Elle unnecessary gazes from her new coworkers that she disliked, for they made her uncomfortable. She had hoped so much to make some new friends in this new start of hers and she had tried to appear approachable at the first week she had been there, however on her second week, a strange phenomenon had started taking place, causing her to be the centre of attention and gossip.

It all started a normal morning when she had walked to her small desk at the corner of the room, ready to start her working day and had found a bouquet of yellow roses, waiting for her. Without a note or anything else that could clarify the identity of the sender, except her name, written with a marker on the wrapper.

She had found it strange at first for she couldn't think of anyone in this country that could potentially send her flowers. She had barely gotten to know the names of her coworkers so no way it was any of them but the occurrence continued from that day on, diligently. An action that had started messing with her life for people around her had started making their own assumptions repeated to her mysterious admirer. Stories that had started getting to her own head, even though she doubted them to be true.

The day that a new CEO was appointed in the company- which none had seen yet- somehow had to be the same day this all had started and that coincidence for her, had ended up fueling the people when the delivery guy that brings them over each morning, had been cornered by a coworker of hers and asked about the sender, the man telling her only that it was some higher-up of this company. A fact that had made most of her coworkers look at her with dirty looks, most likely assuming she had done something to get that small position.

Elle surely had not gotten angry towards that, for in a way, Jin had helped her get that job so maybe she wasn't clean, but she was capable and she was trying to prove that, every day, while throwing the flowers at the trash again and again so she could give a subtle message to all the people that disliked her and whoever that sender was. She was not interested nor she will be available for anything for a long long time.

Yet this morning, upon seeing the beautiful yellow roses that she favoured and smelling their fragrance that she loved, she found herself hesitating to throw them away instantly as she had done consequently for a month now. Not because she cared about who the sender was anymore, but simply because she caught herself wishing to go back in time. Back in the days when Namjoon would be the one, filling her house with her favourite flowers.

The fact that she thought of him, however, made her angry with herself so she filled her trash bin once again with flowers and turned her focus on her computer which she turned on and started her work, without getting distracted from her tasks, even for a moment until break time arrived.

The room sure used to get filled with more chatters and noise than in the working hours when the 45 minutes break started but Elle like most of the other days had remained on her desk, typing away on her keyboard, for she had nothing to do in her free time anyways. If she was to leave that small corner of hers, everything was awkward for her. Going to grab lunch or coffee, would only result in her feeling more alone while seeing others having company and hearing them laugh and talk sure added up to the sad feeling she was trying to avoid.

It was a new start and thus it was normal that it would be difficult for her so she had to endure. One day she will have a better life again, she could make a friend and even be nonchalant and fun. She could become someone that smiles often and maybe, just maybe...someone that doesn't think of him anymore.

She sure had hopes for her future so she had to gulp down the bitterness of change and unfamiliarity, the taste of loneliness and the fact that she had no longer anything to wait for.
