Chapter 71

What's the point of hanging into life, if the only thing you were hoping for, vanished in thin air in a blink of an eye. If all you have lived for so far and worked towards. All you dreamed and used it as strength to pull you through difficult days. If that possibility was to turn into zero wouldn't that simultaneously leave you with no reason to breathe any longer?

We all have that one something. That little hope or dream that may be unobtainable, way too out of reach or even within reach but not quite in our grasp yet. That thing that drives us to walk, crawl, run. The wish that comforts our tears on nights of suffering and pain.  That certain thing has become the reason we still stay in a world that we would have otherwise abandoned if that hope did not exist.

For some that thought is a dream job that could secure their future, graduating from a certain school, winning a parent's approval. One day, they will be proud of me. One day I will reach this place and that place. One day he or she will love me. One day I will be enough. One day I will have it all. A little more. Almost there. One day, someday. Simple words that keep people alive. Little words that no matter how much they lose their value, no matter how far into the darkness you have fallen, they manage to lie to you and wrap you in their veil of possibility. Leaving you hanging on the threat of life, for the sake of a 'what if?'.

That hope may sound like something positive for it saves lives, but in reality, it is not that clean-cut, for people can wish, want or hope onto something that may harm someone else. Into something that's not right nor meant for them. And such was Jaehyun's case, for he had hung his life on the hope of one day getting you and as Jimin had stepped out of his father's office and had come across him near the elevator where he had purposely waited on him, with thoughts of pressuring him emotionally with something, he had spoken to him first of news that had caught him unprepared and had shuttered his hope instantly.

"Jaehyun, I apologise that I have no further time to spear with you today and after today. I will be busy arranging the details of my marriage with Y/N...I hope you don't feel bitter if I don't invite you." Jimin had purposely told him, with a smile on his face as he hit lightly the side of his arm and entered the elevator which he had called, leaving him frozen there, body and mind.

Jimin's smile grew wider as the elevator's door close and made his figure vanish from his sight, feeling that he was walking out of that building completely and utterly victorious in all aspects.

"What did your mother say?" Sira stood from the chair as soon as she saw you approaching and you smiled at her briefly before letting her know that she was screaming so much that your father had thought that something was wrong with her and almost called an ambulance.

"In conclusion though, they both were super happy. One more than the other, since dad said that Jimin has to pass his test before he agrees on giving him his daughter's hand in marriage."

"Didn't he go three days to your hometown and basically did everything your father asked of him just so he would accept him dating you?" Sira recalled, for as far as she was aware after you had told them that you had started dating Jimin and he came clean of all the lies he had told them on new years, your father was very disappointed and disapproving of him for he had proven a lier in his eyes, and Jimin had spent three days doing any physical labour your father had put him to until Jimin had managed to got him to have a real talk with him and he had reluctantly approved of him as your boyfriend.

 "Yes he did, but he said he gave him permission for dating and marriage is another thing." You clarified to her half laughing half worried for what Jimin would have to go through this time, for your dad sure was cool but when it comes to his daughter he sure tended to be overprotective.
