His eyes that gazed at you with anticipation for an answer as he held the small box that contained the ring inside it, left you feeling as if the oxygen around you had gotten thicker and as such, it had become harder for you to inhale it.
You kept quiet as your mind became a chaos of panic and fear of the words he may ask of you. A statement that was clear enough at this point but you were still denying it in your head.
"What's wrong baby? You don't like it?" Jimin tilted his head to the side after he had waited to see a reaction from you that never came as all you did was froze and stare at him, making him grow nervous by each second that passed by.
"No-No...I -I just...why did you buy me a ring?" You found the courage to ask and he smiled at you before he fell on his one knee and looked at you with eyes full of love.
"Why do you think?" He replied and giggled a bit before the atmosphere went back to being silent and he cleared his throat, before taking a deep inhale. Getting ready to ask you the question that has been circling his mind for a while now.
"My Y/n, would you do me the honour of giving me your hand in-"
"Don't say it!" You cut off his sentence abruptly as you stood up from the couch, feeling as if the room was not holding you at that moment and Jimin just stared at you visibly shocked and confused for a brief moment.
"I mean, it's not like I don't want to marry you. I love you and of course, I want to be with you but it's too early Jimin. It's just that this is not the right timing. I am not ready for this and honestly, I don't even understand why you did this? This is so many steps ahead. I really don't understand why did you have to put me in such a position!" You went off as you suddenly grew a bit mad at him and the way he had acted without even taking the reality into consideration. Marriage was an important thing for you and surely was not a decision to be taken on a whim.
Jimin's face fell at your response and his eyes looked away, making you feel even worse at the fact that you were rejecting him. Why did he have to do such a thing when you had not even managed to overcome other obstacles that you had among you? Why had he decided to do such an action when he most likely would have been aware too that you would have to reject him? It made you as mad as it made you sad that he had brought the situation like this that you had to end up hurting his feelings with your words.
"I knew you would say no." That was all he whispered as he stood up on his feet again and closed the small box, taking the ring out of your sight.
"Jimin I am really sorry, I really have no intentions of hurting you so please don't think anything weird. This is really just not-" You took hold of his hand in an attempt to reassure him and soothe his feeling but he disrupted your words with his lips, as he gave you a small peck and finally looked in your eyes again.
"I know how you feel, you don't have to explain. I am aware it's too fast and I am also aware that this could possibly scare you but I still wanted you to know what are my intentions for our future." He explained as his hand took hold of yours and placed the small box on your palm.
"Keep it. Even if it's a no for now. Have it as a symbol of the future that awaits us. And when the time feels right for you, wear it. I will fall on my knees for you at any moment, any day." He smiled widely as he proceeded to cup your cheek and you felt relieved that you had not hurt him with your answer.
Your eyes got filled with tears from how loved and cared he made you feel and you couldn't help but hug him tight, whispering to him that you love him as you held him in a desperate way, feeling sorry and thankful towards him, for you had left him waiting for you.
