Chapter 177

"You're saying that, you turned back the time for everyone and yourself?" Mila did not think that she would hear that from Grace. 'Is what she was telling me true???' Mila did not want to believe that it was possible to turn back time.

"Do you believe me?" Grace held a smile, looking at Mila showing no care if she believed her or not. At the same time, she could tell that Mila was just quite in a lot of shock.

"Would you believe me if I said that I had the memories of my first life?" Mila said after with Grace knowing that she would mention it to her. Mila could see Grace already knew about her knowing about her last life.

"I was the one who turned back time, but I changed your memories just a bit since you would know of my identity quicker." Grace did not want Mila to try and change anything about her or rather she did not wish for Mila to know that she was the one who did everything to turn back the time for them all.

"Change?" Mila didn't know what she meant by that. 'So, could she have possibly changed my memories about certain events?'

"In your first life, I wasn't ill nor did I pass away in labor." Grace figured that it was about time to tell Mila about what she was like in her last life. "I survived and lived with my son, but we both never truly met in person. I met you once in your first life and I remembered your biological mother nearly killed you just like you witnessed as an infant. You were so small that time. I wanted to raise you, but you would be in far greater danger if you were with me. So, I kept watch over you instead and made sure that your father allowed you to marry a man who would not hurt you, but it all turned out terrible in the end. I never expected your older half-sister to be so cruel to you. Taking the husband that we both assumed would be good for you, but it seems as though he was the worst choice to make. After you died, the Noble household was slowly killed off, but only your half-sisters lived and became the favored concubines for Prince Leroy in that lifetime." Grace explained to Mila who never would have expected any of that. "I did not want you or your brother to go through all of that. You, your brother, and your father deserved a better life." Grace was weak that time, but she used up the last of her mana that time to turn back time which was the cause for her death this lifetime.

"Then, why was I able to keep my memories?" Mila wanted to know why she was the only one with such tragic memories of the past. She felt as though it was more suffering to have all the memories that were fatal to her mind.

"Your old memories were meant for you to learn from them, not suffer from them." Grace went forth, holding Mila by the hands to see how much she had been feeling fear of those memories. "To stand forth, and try to live life the way you want." Grace smiled, seeing how Mila still didn't understand why she was given her old memories. "Your last life may have been unfortunate, but with this second chance. You were able to avoid it with the better choices that you made." Grace did not want Mila to see that there was no point in the second chance given to her. It was meant to help her change her fate and seek out what she could or wanted to do. "You do not need to think of the past anymore. You have overcome all of it now. There are new changes in this life that will be unknown for you now. You will have to be careful now that things are different." Grace needed Mila to know that she could not always depend on the past anymore now that she passed her death fate.

"Why did you die this time?" Mila was now curious about why Grace had died this time rather than like the last time.

"In order to reverse time, it came with a price and that's what it did to me. I used up all of my mana to reverse it. My soul was deteriorating from my body, so once my soul could no longer hold then my body gave up. I was sent here instead with just my soul to stay alive. I can never move on to my next lifetime. It is like punishment for me." Grace could not go anywhere now that she was messing with fate in this way.
