(Frisk's POV)
Valentine's Day was tomorrow on the calendar, and I knew what I wanted to do. I hoped to spend some time with my boyfriend, Develyn, and we would go out to see a hockey game for our next date. We'd decided to see Colorado Avalanche face off against the Detroit Red Wings. I was calling Develyn to see how he would like to see an ice hockey match.
"I believe I owe you a date," I said. "Sorry about not thinking of an idea sooner, Vel. I really wanted it to be something you'd enjoy."
Develyn chuckled. "I forgive you, Frisky. Next time, though, at least give me a heads-up if our date is postponed, especially for this long."
"Okay." I felt bad about it, but I'd been busy with school and the ambassadorial tasks, plus I wanted to spend some time with my family, but I'd completely forgotten about our date, which I'd asked him out on last summer. "Hopefully this makes up for the, um, standing-up thing."
"Trust me," Develyn said. "When you mentioned the Colorado Avalanche team was playing, I knew all that was water under the bridge. Truth is, I don't really root for a set team, but for this one, I'm Avalanche all the way."
"Great," I said. "The game is tomorrow, February 14, at 2:30. See you then!"
Develyn said goodbye and hung up. I sighed with relief. Hopefully this date will go smoothly.
(Frisk's POV, tomorrow)
When the doorbell rang, I knew Vel was here. He'd arrived to pick me up, which I was grateful for.
"Be good, alright?" Toriel said. "And I hope you and Develyn have fun."
"Will do, Mom," I said, dashing out the door. Develyn was waiting for me on the front porch, but I didn't see him, and I ran into him, knocking both of us to the ground.
"Oh my goodness," Toriel said, coming out. "Are you all right?"
"I'm fine," I groaned.
Develyn and I managed to get to our feet. "This," Develyn said, "gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, 'running into each other.'"
"I'm sorry," I said. "I was so excited, I forgot about you being out there."
"Come on," Develyn said, taking my hand into his. "You needed a ride?"
Soon, we'd arrived at the stadium. There was a bustling crowd gathered in the lobby, waiting to enter the arena seats. Thankfully, I'd ordered our tickets ahead of time, so we managed to get to our seats with little trouble. We were just in time, for the match was about to be underway.
"Here we go," Develyn said.
Then the air horn blew, and the match began for real. It wasn't too long before Avalanche scored a point. It happened so fast, I couldn't tell if I was dreaming.
"That was... something," I said.
Develyn chuckled. "You've seen nothing yet, Frisky. Trust me."
(Undyne's POV)
I had just finished up my afternoon patrol for the police department when I saw Papyrus in front of me.
"Papyrus?" I asked. "I thought you finished your shift."
"I WANTED TO GIVE SOMETHING TO MY GIRLFRIEND FOR VALENTINE'S DAY," he said. That's when I noticed the heart-shaped container.
"I MADE THIS SPECIAL FOR YOU," Papyrus said. "HOPE YOU ENJOY IT! NYEH HEH HEH!"
I took the container out of Pap's hands. "You dork," I said, "that was sweet of you. By the way, I've got something for you too."
With that, I suplexed him over my head.
